I want a console version of puzzle quest. I've got the PSP version now.

Which is the best version?

I checked IGN and both the PS2 and Wii versions rate pretty low (7.0). The xbox360 version for a 9.0 though. I don't have a 360 yet, but may get one in the future.

So, which one is best? Why?

I voted for the 360 since it is the cheapest and it's the only one I own.

I couldn't vote as the only version I own is the DS one. I have heard good things about the PS2 version, though.

360 barely edges out the PS2, IMO.

Achievement Points...

The 360 since it's the only one I played.

i've played ds and psp - i think the ds one is more fun b/c of the stylus.

PSP is the best for the graphics, better than the DS anyway. I have the PS2 version but I would assume the 360 version looks better. I don't have Xbox Live, so I can't say.

the 360 version is obviously the better version...it was also giving a better rating over the others...why the thread!?!

the absolute best is the DS cause of hte touchscreen. try it, and then youll never use a joypad again, trust me. please.

PC or DS FTW. I don't like the idea of using a d-pad to play this game. I haven't tried the Wii version, but I assume the control is wonky from the reviews. Have to try it to know for sure.

According to Metacritic.com, Gamestats.com, and Gamerankings.com:

Xbox 360: 8.7
PSP: 8.6
PC: 8.5
DS: 8.2
PlayStation 2: 8.0
Wii: 7.2

Because the versions may have been held to different standards, reviewed by different reviewers, etc...

I like the D-pad. It's very accurate. I've tried the DS version and have missed a few moves because of the touchscreen.

The 360 / PS2 / PC / Wii versions apparently balance the game out a lot better than in the DS and PSP versions (which I hear cheated just a little too god damn much), but the PS2 version's graphics aren't as sharp as the 360's.

The only one I own is the PS2 and had no idea about the PC version...guess I'll go pick it up, especially if it's based on the tweaked and rebalanced game and not the DS/PSP version. Mouse control / high resolution / all of the other perks of the later console releases? Yes, please.

Xbox 360: 8.7
PSP: 8.6
PC: 8.5
DS: 8.2
PlayStation 2: 8.0
Wii: 7.2

Those scores are absolutely meaningless. You have to read the reviews themselves to be able to differentiate what makes one port better than the other.

The d-pad, while accurate, is SLOW and cluncky which hurts in battles, but might actually help in research and item creation. Gives you time to think twice before you make a move. Mind you I have played Zoo Keeper +100 hrs before I got Puzzle Quest so I never had a problem with the stylus control. Was practically perfect by my experience. Pick a slot, tap and slide, perfect. :)

Isn't the 360 version the only one that features online play? I believe that had a lot to do with it's higher score.

The PC version has it, too.

I have the PSP, DS, and 360 versions. I prefer the PSP version actually. They "fixed" too much of how I like to play the game in the 360 version and it makes it less enjoyable to me. I hate how they limit how many times you can power up in the 360 version :(
