This weekend while I was high top in 4 coffee cups I decide to start working in a Sega Neptune prototype as seen before!...Finally after several hours,frustation,100 wires soldered into the board and another 10 cups of coffee it was achieved....It works flawless with all of my 21 or so 32X games and other Hard Sega Genesis titles like Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat. Also,it only uses 1 power supply intead of two...After many hours that I've put into it I'm thinking on selling it,so my question is,what would be a good price for this baby?..

Now all you need to do is pimp it out with a clear NEPTUNE 32X logo and that will be one beautiful piece of collector's gold.

Yes,I have been looking for a nice 32X logo in my old(90's)video game magazines but haven't found one that has satisfied me!

Call me impressed. If you want to sell it, I bet you could get good money for it. I bet some of the guys at ASSEMbler would spend a few pretty pennies for that and give it a good home.

It was built all day Saturday and tested all day Sunday....I played every 32X game(21) that I own for at least 25 minutes each without any glitches or problems and beated Street Fighter II and Street Fighter II the New challengers all the way twice with Ryu,Ken and Guile. Also tested with other Genesis titles like,The Genesis 6-Pak,Street of Rage,Mortal Kombat I,II,III,Sonic & Knuckles,Golden Axe and Sonic 2 and again making it to far levels without any problems,This thing has succesfully played everything that has been feeded into it....The only game that I'm aware of not to work is Virtua Racing, but this is normal with all 32X systems!....I hope not to change my mind about selling it!...

Hm it might be a project I should look into trying to do sometime as well then. My wife works 12-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday so I'm usually at home alone with nothing else to do.

Great job!! It is very inspiring as I've always wanted to make the 32X less complicated for hooking up all the connectors and adapters.

Now you need to make one that plays the unlicensed EA games (using the Genesis 1) or one that is region-free (using a built-in Super Mega-Key)

I hope it can find a very loving family who will take care of it.!

I'm not sure if it works good with the Sega CD,because I dont have one to tested with, but most likely it does, the connector is still there..

Damn. If you could fit all that and a Sega CD into a Gen 1 model Case (slot drive and all) it would be the greatest Sega System EVER.

Awesome job, man!

You call that a mess?

What did you make the logo out of and why did you use a 32X logo rather than making a Neptune one?

I don't get it. What is a neptune? What you have made appears to be a system that plays Genesis and 32x games, correct? Didn't the 32x already do that? I guess I really don't get it.

Please be gentle in your explaination.

thanks

Neptune = A proposed system that was in essence a 32x & Genesis in one.

Just like what he made.

Yes, they are rumored to exist in quantities unknown. Sega was rumored to have made between 2 and 300 of them, depending who you ask. EGM even did an April Fool's joke about them, claiming they were for sale.

Very nice. Too bad you couldn't have gotten a real Neptune case though, that would have been the ultimate. Very nice job though as it is a very useful mod. I'd buy it if I had some more extra cash laying around!
