Tetris - GameBoy Version

I have a question regarding the release of Tetris for the original GameBoy. I know Tetris was originally just a pack-in with the GameBoy and then there was a GameBoy Color release called Tetris DX. But was Tetris ever (re)released as a stand-alone game for the original GameBoy?

I think so, because I remember seeing a Tetris GB box with a "Million Seller" seal on it.

yes it was released as a "stand-alone-game" (at least in Germany)
