Well, I may be able to trade some PCE shooters I rarely play for a mint complete boxed Skeleton Saturn. Does anyone know much about whether it's worth it or not? This is the see thru "This is Cool" model with all docs and box. 50,000 were made, a lot for a limited edition, so I guess I'm wondering what it's worth and whether I really should trade for it. I have a normal model 2 Saturn that I plan on keeping, and this would be more for the novelty than anything else (unless someone REALLY wanted it from me or something). Anyway, you're thoughts?

I never ever heard of a skeleton saturn. Sounds really cool. I would go for it since the games you are trading you say you don't play them anyway. What are the values of the games you are trading??

A skeleton Saturn is: http://www.ncsx.com/ncs0330/ncs0413/coolsat.jpg

It was the last version of the Saturn that was released in Japan, and as far as I know, had one of the lowest print runs (about 50,000). Keep in mind that I have a woefully inadequate import Saturn collection....a whopping 5 or 6 games! I want more, but I can't afford them....it WOULD be really handy to not have to use an ST-Key tho (if I had room in my Entertainment center for the Cool Saturn (so designated by the "This is Cool" on the lid).

As for the stuff I'm offering for trade, it's kind of undecided at this point, but I'm willing to trade some of these:

Macross 2036 ($65 R6)
Metamor Jupiter ($40 R6)
Hellfire S ($35 R6)
Hawk F-123 ($20 R4)
Sidearms Special ($30 R5)
L-Dis ($20 R4)
Sidearms ($12 R2)

It IS a cool system, but more of a novelty than anything else.

There is a REALLY rare Saturn model out there... I saw it on Ebay once. It was some sort of developer model/gift that was a full saturn system, plus an additional 4 megs of RAM to take advantage of the games that required it, plus a cart port and the internals of a Sega 32x!!!

Does anyone know more about this system? It seems to be legit... just exceptionally rare.

Incidently, my trusty Saturn is acting up and won't play imports anymore... It may just me my RAM/convertor cart. I'm ging home this weekend... I'll pick up my modded Saturn while I'm there.

Peace :D

Looks like I'm trading Macross 2036, L-Dis, and Hellfire S for the Saturn, and I may be getting some games with it. Anyone think I'm getting taken? The system is MINT and boxed. I think it's a fair deal personally.

I don't think you are getting taken. I was looking for one on ebay about six months ago. I saw some but then always went for to much. I thinks the price was 150 and up.

I would really like to hear more about that!

Also, wasn't there a rumored Genesis/SegaCD/32x all in one unit? (not just the EGM gag of the Neptune, either).
