Well I popped into Wal-Mart today for a price estimate on Mass Effect for my brother and a Wii-mote rechargeable battery/cradle combo when low and behold I spot an oddity in the case...
A Full Stock of TUROK for the 360. I had just been discussing the game last week with a co-worker and planned to buy it when it came out in Feb. Well this Wal-Mart sure enough had the entire stock out for all systems and I bought a copy on sight. A nice little early present I believe. Check your local Wal-Marts and or other stores. I checked online and no one has it (save for a few ebayers). So far the game plays well, looks good, and is a much better Turok than previous installments. Anyone else get a copy yet?

I was at a few stores tonight (Circuit City, Wal-mart, Target) and they all had copies. I don't think it has a street date, plenty of copies for each.
Played the demo, it seems fun enough.

I hope you played the demo first. I don't mean to piss on your enthusiasm, but the demo didn't inspire my confidence or enthusiasm in the least.

Hated the demo. Funky controls, no aim-helper which I think the game could have used, and it's a hard feeling to describe, but it's as if the camera is "too close" to the action. Annoying feeling that pissed me off the whole time I was playing the demo.

I got a free copy with some best buy credit I had, but haven't opened it yet, good to hear its a better entry in the series.

Controls are clunkier than a triceratops.
If there were two gay black men with funny little hats reviewing this, they'd definately give it a "Hated it" followed by two snaps and a kit kat bar.

Hrmm its in Stores already? I wasn't a fan of the demo either. I hope the finished product is better.

After you play for awhile it feels comfortable (yet hectic at times). The raptors are a challenge as they attack quick and take quite a few shots to put down (or a well timed knife execution.) I like the multiple ways of adventuring into a zone and it is nice to explore a little. The only problem I really run into is the lack of telling the player what to do. At times I'll dance around and wonder what to do next, and the waves of respawning raptors get on my nerves in certain areas.
Honestly though, this is the best since the first Turok game (you wanna talk about clunky controls look at any of the N64 Turoks). I wish their were more weapons but, overall a nice feel to the game definatly an 7.8-8 out of 10

yeah, I agree with you, this game is pretty sweet, so far I have to say this is the best turok game since I played the original on the n64 back in the day.. They actually made the story deeper, yeah, they kinda modified it, but its still interesting and the gameplay/controls aren't bad, I have had some "jitters" while shooting. but you hold the left trigger while you shoot to give you a more acurate shooting. Its a solid 8.7

If it wasn't so generic, it would be on to something. Aside from the dinosaur attack, there's nothing here to seperate this from the countless other shooters out there. It looks great, cinematics are very well done, has some great audio in 5.1, but shooting the various guys in black suits makes this feel exactly like Black, Fear, or Killzone.
I'm still early, but what happened to the crazy weapons, like the cerebral bore and poison arrows?
Controls are frustrating as the right trigger won't take the close kill half the time. The dinosaurs move so quickly, they move out of range before you have a chance to take advantage of the pop-ups. Also, nowhere near enough close kill animations. What are there, three?
I'll play through it, but it's bland at best.

Haha, Turok. I just bought the OXM with the Rock Band songs in them, and decided to play the Turok demo that comes with it. My goodness that game is ridiculous. The only thing that entertains me is the hilarious knife animation.

I was thoroughly disappointed with the demo.
Everything about it feels last-gen in it's design, with current-gen filters/mapping on the graphics.
I'm glad that some people are enjoying it, but I thought it was pretty awful in it's level design, controls, and by-the-numbers characters/voice work.

I was bored with the demo, glad they had a demo up or else I might have bought it, and I was hoping they would allow you to play online as a raptor or something, now THAT would set this apart from most shooters out there.

From what I understand, the demo is in no way an indicator of the final product. Seeing everyone judge the game based off of the demo is a little disheartening, especially if some of you were looking forward to it. Drop 3 or 4 bucks to rent it.

I really did not like this game too much.
I too am experiencing the hard to describe strangeness with the way the game moves, it made me feel kinda dizzy but it could possibly be the sluggishness of the controls. Also you get knocked over by the dinosaurs far too frequently.
Pass on this game for me.
