I recently had my beloved 360 infected with the RROD. After trying to fill the void by playing my PS3 (eh) I finally decided to buy another 360...and for some reason I can't find any 360s in the SoCal area. I keep getting the same answer at all the stores I've visited, "We haven't received any 360s since Christmas"....so what's going on? is Microsoft planning to release another SKU or what?

I see Arcade units everywhere...but that is it (on the East Coast here)...
But something is odd with ALL game systems on my end, not just the 360. Stores in this area are wiped out, and it looks no different than it did the day after Xmas. No Wii units anywhere (of course), some PS3 units here and there, an abundance of 360 arcade units, no DS Lites, some PSP units here and there...
It's just kind of odd as we are in Feb now, and it seems like most of the retailers around me are not getting deliveries or something...

That's odd.. My Best Buys and other Electronics stores cannot seem to get rid of their consoles. They're always stacking Xbox 360's everywhere.. along with PS3's... Wii's cannot be found though.
(you know they have too many when they stack them in the refrigerator section...)

Supply and demand, too. All the stores (except the one I work at of course) don't have any 360s either.
Lots of people getting into 360 now. With stuff like rock band and (insert first person shooter here), there's a bunch of reasons people want it now. Plus the fact that Microsoft Is actually showing a profit, it really looks like the box is catching up.

I wondered the same thing here. I went to Best Buy and bought the new Burnout for the 360 and looked around and no 360's anywhere.

What we have in our area is a big ol' stack of Arcade models but that's about it. This was good for me because I used an Arcade edition to replace my dead 360 - take everything off of the old one and slap it on the cheap model. I was smart to buy the extended warranty this time around!
