It was like Dragon's Lair, you were pretty much controlling a cartoon. I could hardly ever get far in it before blowing up. It starts off in a city and you're in an attack chopper trying to shoot down other copters. The only place I remember having one was the arcade in Wayne Hills Mall in NJ around the mid-80s. Anyone?:hmm:

I remember playing it at the arcade and I used to own it for the sega cd.
I let my buddy borrow my sega cd and all my games including Snatcher and he never gave them back. There was a game called Road Avengers that was just like Cobra Command but in cars...it was just as cool as cobra command

ah yeah I love Cobra Command and it's sister game Road Avengers. My brother and I used to play the arcade cockpit version all the time so when it came out for Sega CD we jumped on it.

Of course now you can play it on your pc using Daphne. Or of course on the xbox using Daphne-X. You have to use a specific older version though, (I think .93) to get it to work :)

I actually played the NES Cobra Command first, but I played Cobra Command for the Sega CD when it came out. I really liked it, but I understand the arcade version of both CC and Road Avenger are better than the Sega CD versions.

"Tanks in the desert! Use your missiles!" Had it memorized to the point where I could beat the game even if the laserdisc wasn't playing and only the target boxes showed up. There was also the cheat where you could crash on purpose over and over again right before the ending and rack up infinite points. Good times.
