I am picking up a new van tonight, and I will have the DVD entertainment option which also has RCA inputs. Not sure if dealer has these, or if it exists but is there a convertor to go from an adaptor that plugs into the wall outlet to a vehicular type power plug? I asked a lady at Walmart about this and she thought that they carried them but they were recalled and she hasn't seen them since.

All help is appreciated.

I know I've seen those at Circuit City. We got one quite a while ago, and I'm pretty sure it was from Radio Shack. Check there too.

Well, if the Van is already equipped with a DVD entertainment setup, then it will already have the Power Converter installed right? You shouldn't have to go and buy a $40 convertor unless you are going to setup a vehicle for 110 volts from scratch. Or maybe I'm just not comprehending your question correctly.

Those kinds of entertainment systems are usually designed to run off the vehicle's existing 12V DC power, and they usually also have a built in transformer so you can plug them in indoors as well. In any case, a power inverter that handles a video game system shouldn't be any more than $40. The PSX only needs 17 watts, and I got a 60 watt for $40 at Radio Shack. I played a lot of Guitar Freaks on the way to Cleveland last week. ;-)

This is going to be very cool .... not sure how my wife will feel when I tell her she gets to drive us to work so I can play some video games lol. 50 minutes per way is lots of time to settle in to a game.

Thanks again everyone!

I give it 4 months before he's either pulled over because of it or someone destroys the vehicle to rip it out... that's the way these things always end up.
