Bought and beat Earthbound 0, about to beat FFIIIj

Here are some titles I'm thinking about, any advice is greatly appreciated!

Here are some I'm thinking about. As you can see, I like RPG's.

Makai Island, Sweet Home, Recca - PURE -, Moon Crystal, Chronicle of Radia War

That depends... what are your favorite RPGs? If I knew what you liked I could suggest something similar. (:

Love Earthbound Zero and SNES version. Love the futuristic feel of FFVII, but also enjoy the whole greek mysticism of the early FF series. Love Shining Force II. Love Lunar 1 and 2 (Sega CD). Love Panzer Dragoon Saga. Snatcher is one of my most favorite games, but it's much more of a Adventure title. Basically, I love obscure RPG's because it adds to the experience for me. I love the sensation of playing a game that is obscure as if it could have very well just as easily have not have happened. However I like QUALITY RPG's. I recently bought Lucienne's Quest 3DO for the 2nd time just to end up selling it again because of it's lack of story and immersive dialogue.

If you love the Shining Force series I can't stress enough just how awesome Just Breed is. For starters despite being an NES game it has a pretty decent storyline and excellent dialouge. Gameplay is identical to the Shining series, with the added bonus of having lairs where monsters generate from. Shining Force CD included something similar for a couple battles.

If you're into Greek Mythology you may want to try The Glory of Heracles II. It's a Dragon Warrior clone set in ancient Greece.

However, Chronicle of Radia War is also a good choice. Plays very similarly to Star Ocean with the freedom of a top down action oriented menu battle system. And of course Sweet Home is just plain awesome.

When you say Glory of Heracales II is similar to Dragon Warrior, is it also just as demanding as far as gameplay (ie: 'Talk', 'Give', 'Read', etc.)? It's for that reason I have Dragon Warrior merely for the conversation piece. I respect the game for what it is and was, but I could never really manage to get into it. If it's similar to Shining Force though, then I might be sold.

Edit: BTW, does anyone do a English repro for Star Ocean on SNES? Thought I'd throw that out there. I can't really get into these games unless they are on original hardware. I'm not an elitist asshole or anything, just like owning the damn thing.

i like playing on origional hardware as well...an option you may want to consider that may be cheaper in the long run is a flash cart. for myself i buy the origional SFC game, i collect anyways and i to especially love rpg's. then when i have the origional game i just patch a rom of it on the net and load it to the flash cart and play on the snes or nes.

last i checked repos were kinda pricey, for like $80 or so you can get a flash cart/writer combo for the SNES

the only repo i do have is acually Star Ocean. but that game was to big to fit on my flash cart anyways...i think.
