After seeing, for the first time, a 3rd party wireless guitar specifically for "Guitar Hero 3" at Best Buy this weekend, I began to poke around online and see if it's also compatible with Rock Band. (Because frankly, I think the actual Guitar Hero Les Paul controller is tops and doesn't need replacing.)

After poking around a bit (and finding out that that model was NOT compatible with Rock Band) I came across Nyko's site, where they are advertising the "dual-compatible, wireless Frontman guitar" for BOTH Guitar Hero 3 AND Rock Band (projected release in March 08) ...

... and while continuing to browse their site (which looks much better now than I ever remember it looking) I also saw what looks to be an EXCELLENT Wii WIRELESS NUNCHUCK accessory (NOT the kind that uses the existing nunchuck and leaves the wire dangling off the side...though they have that too!!!) as well as some other peripherals that ... actually DON'T look like complete pieces of crap!

Which leads me to pose the question "Is Nyko, historically makers of questionable quality peripherals, ACTUALLY beginning to think outside the box and make some things that will make our collective gaming experience better?"

I mean ... especially in the face of Activision and Harmonix not playing nice with their PS3 and XBOX guitar compatibility issues ... Nyko may indeed be the company that single-handedly either FIXES that problem with their guitar (which thankfully looks more derivative in it's fret/strum bar design of the Guitar Hero guitar than the Rock Band one) OR becomes the cause of Activision and Harmonix getting over themselves and allowing for cross compatibility with both guitars on both games.

Check out some of their marketing ... I'm actually pretty surprised and mildly impressed!!
