from the age/nostalgia poll...i almost posted in there but i didn't want to distract from his research
i've always questioned the validity of the "first generation" of video games...with the exception of pong, i never really felt like telstar or odyssey made a big impact on many people beside hardcore computer users and hobbyists. how many people really owned these? 2600/intellivision is where i think video games really got big.
that might just be my bias because i wasn't even born in the first generation, but you really don't hear anything about those systems. i know the information in the poll came from the wikipedia...but i think that first and second generation should really be lumped into one generation, and NES/Master System et al should be the "2nd generation"
