I found 3 of these amongst my stuff, unfortunately I have no turntable to
listen to them. They appear to be Promotional Advertising in the form of
a Vinyl Record (The record is transparent over the DATA AGE background)
the back title proclaims : MINDSCAPE An Audio Adventure From Data Age!
And goes on to advertise 5 games (SSSNAKE/ WARPLOCK/ AIRLOCK/
BUS & Encounter AT L-5 LOL!

Apparently the games are for the Atari Video Game System / Sears
Telegames Video Arcade and the back has copyright info 1982.

Just thought some of you might like to see. I scanned the front and back......

Just wondering..........anyone recall or have these and
remember what was on them? We're any of the games
made by them any good?

UPDATE: LOL! I found an MP3 of it ON THIS SITE!

http://www.digitpress.com/dpsoundz/mp3/mindscape.mp3

OMG I remember listening to
that as a kid on my DORCHESTER all in one stereo, on another site a member
replied saying that the companies game AIRLOCK is the single worst game he owns!
LOL! Well it still brings back memories....................

Yes, Data Age has some of the absolute worst games ever. People who think E.T. or Pac-Man on the 2600 are bad have clearly never played the likes of Sssnake or Airlock. However, they did do some things right. Journey Escape is actually quite fun but does get repetitive. Frankenstein's Monster is not only a fun and challenging game but one the more unique games on the system.

they were bad but when this 10yo had a choice of these at $5 from the Kaybees....i could get 4-5 of these compared to the activision ones.

but i damn knew even then that the nice stackable activision cases ment alot more fun.

Moved from Off-topic (?) to Classic Gaming.

Glad you found the MP3 on this site, it was fun "mastering" the recording. I think I peed my pants and every time I listen to that I get at least a guffaw, if not a full on ROTFL.

Anyway, Airlock is not that bad of a game, I'd even say it's one of their better games. Encounter at L7, Bugs, and the dreadful Sssnake are the ones that should be remembered as Data Age's most memorable blunders.

And yet... I seem to have more fun with all of these now than I did back in the day.
