Just doing a little survey here to see if I'm the only seller that's getting screwed re, feedback. Post your FB received, FB left, then divide to get a FB percentage. It appears I'm gonna go to a "leave one first, then I'll leave one" policy if I don't start seeing buyers turn their shit around. Take a gander:

575 recieved
832 given
____________

69.1% FB ratio

In other words, I'm getting only 70% responders compared to the FBs I've left. Pitiful....

left 550 feedbacks , got 418 back

which comes to 76 %

and I have left feedback on every auction. except for a few where I would have given the person a negative and they would have given me a neg back cause they A-Holes.

its sad because frankly I dont want to email everyone and say, dont forget to leave me feedback.

Whoa I did 500 + auctions, where has all the money gone...........Oh yeah NES collection and DVD's

I only leave feedback when I'm the seller and they pay me or when they are the seller and they leave me feedback when they're supposed to.

To tell you the truth, I can care less if my buyers leave me positive feedback or not. Other than trying to avoid negatives, feedback isn't very important to me and I'll never harass a buyer into leaving it.

As far as setting a policy of not leaving feedback until the other party does first, well, I can only see this resulting in less feedback as a whole. What if everyone had this attitude?

Whatever...

Oh, and for the record,

515 feedback received
645 feedback left
I think this averages to about 79.8% if I did the math right.

Agreed. And, to tell the truth, I'm at the "My feedback is high enough not to worry about it" level anyway. I guess I'm just frustrated with going out of my way to really, really please people, especially the eBaydiots, and not get "a little something for the effort." I leave FB the instant I'm Paypal'ed or the day I get your check or MO. I ship immediately, even if you've paid with a check. If you have a problem, immediate replacements or refunds, no problems. Jump through hoops, jump through hoops, jump through hoops.

Then, after you go through all this for a particularly troublesome buyer, you never hear from them again. In fact, you don't even know if the parcel got there or not unless you e-mail them and check. And these are folks with 500+ FB, so you KNOW they ain't leaving for anyone else. Urgh. Just frustrating and pisses me off. It's just...I dunno....rude in my opinion. Like not saying "Thank you" or belching without saying "Excuse me" *Sigh*

hmm.. I never noticed, but I have 17 feedback (actually, 18 total, two from same buyer), but I've only left 15? I can't believe I've forgotten to leave feedback for people! Now, granted, I've been a member since 1999, and only have 17 feedback, and didn't even get feedback for all the auctions that I did won, but wow, I'm still kind of amazed that I didn't leave feedback for everyone who left some for me..

I've left feedback on ALL deals I've ever done... sadly I'd say about 20% of people have not left feedback for me...

I've left 565 & received 450. So I'm at 79.6%.

In looking at it, it still pisses me off that they stick old users with the confusing neutrals.

"4 neutrals. 4 were converted from users no longer registered ."

They need to go back & change those neutrals to positives again instead of making it look like a smear on my record to new users.

Hey, I have been on ebay since like 2 months after it opened. I remember back when you could leave anyone feedback at any time, transaction or not, registered or not...

Yeah, I remember doing trades on boards like this & then both leaving feedback on our eBay accounts.

Hey, I have been on ebay since like 2 months after it opened. I remember back when you could leave anyone feedback at any time, transaction or not, registered or not...

Those were the good ol' days. I used to know the passwords to 6 or 7 accounts and when a new friend got an ebay account the would immediately have crazy feedback from everones account I knew the password to. Also I used to exchange feedback with people I made trades with on RGVC newsgroup. It's probably better now that you can't just randomly leave feedback but it was fun to leave some completely incoherent line about monsters and vomit or something. Back to the other subject I have never once asked for feedback and I always leave it immediately after I've been paid. I really don't think anyone cares about your feedback once it it over 100 or so as long as you don't have more than a few negative and neutral. I sure don't. They people I am most concerned about dealing with is people who have more than about 20 negatives even if they have 10,000 positive. These people generally have poor customer service or poor item descriptions.

Quick Question

I know that feedback received on counts unique users.

Is the amount of feedback LEFT showing total feedback left or only feedback to unique users? It doesn't specifically say unique users in the feedback left secrion as it does in the feedback received section.

Achika

I believe it's total. So if I leave 15 positives for press.start, all 15 are counted in the total of amount left.

I am the guy who probably didn't leave you feedback. I have never really cared too much and I really don't care since I have over 100 with only 1 negative.

My roomate, who I use their account sometimes, has received 143 and left 118. Same thing as the other account. I know, I ought to try and leave feedback more often....

Since the feedback left seems to include everything(not just unique)

152 left
128 rec'd
% 84.2 average

I believe it's total. So if I leave 15 positives for press.start, all 15 are counted in the total of amount left.

Wouldn't this explain the difference that many people have between feedback given and feedback received? If you win 10 auctions from one person you'd only get one positive yet you'd leave 10 positives in return.

I think I understand what you're saying....and yes, if they only used the number that counts would explain why they 'most likely' have a small percentage. It's more accurate if you use total recieved (including dupes from the same user) divided by total left. I think....geez I hate math....

I left 505 and received 395.
That's 78,2 percent.

Seems like it could be worse.
