I happened to be in the area of a goodwill or else I would have not gone in. In the electronics aisle was a bagged bundle that looked like a Genesis system with a bunch of accessories. Then I noticed the game cartridge, Outback Joey. My heart skipped a beat and I picked it up.

This is the Heartbeat Personal Trainer with all the accessories and the game cart. Unforunately, no box or documentation but for $6.99 I think I made out ok...

How much is this set worth? I know they are pretty scarce and I dont see one on ebay.

I looked up the cart and it says 125 complete and that it's an R10... I'd say that's one pretty nice find...

Thanks! This was at Goodwill in Mundelein, IL. The last 3 times I went there I found absolutely nothing of use. This was quite the shock.

I found this but this one is a boxed system.

Also it was a little more than 2 years ago so I'm sure they are a little harder to find now and the value has gone slightly up.

Wow, nice price! How did you find an ebay auction so old? I guess mine is not totally complete, as it does not have the small accessories pictured in the 2 plastic baggies but that's ok. Thanks for linking this auction 98.

Awesome find! Especially at a goodwill nowaday's, as they seem to be dried up videogame wise.

I just remembered...I saw somebody on Flickr had found a Neo Geo + 4 games at a Goodwill store about 20 minutes away from me--for some ridiculously low price. I was...upset.

I was intrigued by your find and couldn't find a listing in the DP guide. I did a quick google search and that auction came up. It seems to be a link in a sega forum or something like that. I wish ebay would keep some of their older auctions on-line for a bit longer.

There is a listing for it in the DP advanced guide. Not under US games, but rather under the proto and one of a kind section(even though it is not either). It is listed as a R10 with a value of $125 for the set. Most DP values are really low so I was wondering what the real price is.

That is a very good fine. If you check Good Will fairly regularly you can usually find some good stuff atleast once every two months. And just because you don't find something good every week doesn't nessesarily mean they don't have anything good. It just means someone else beat you to the good stuff by a few days or a few minutes.

Yeah, amazing. Where can you get a bike that uses it?

It should be a Model 1 Genesis with a different top shell so I don't see why not.

I know this post is quite old, but any chance you still have this and are willing to sell?

Man, why'd you bump this? Seeing what people are willing to pay for these now makes me feel a little sick. I have no regrets back when I sold mine - as I got it for $30 and was paid substantially more than that for it, needed the cash to re-locate, and there wasn't enough interest in them to really drive the price beyond a few hundred dollars - but when you see people throwing out bounties of thousands of dollars, well - yeah, a little sick.

Difference was mine was boxed complete, most of the parts still bagged, and it had all the documentation including the signed thank you letter from the president of Heartbeat Corp.
