Due to a recent discovery and fascination with "Famiclones" as well as knockoffs of other consoles as well as Pirate or Unlicensed games and even legit variations of original consoles (Like the SEARS versions) I was wondering if any members here collect such items exclusively? Whether you do or you collect them in addition to more traditional / common hardware and software I would really appreciate any pictures, stories info etc you can share! Thanks in advance!!!!

I don't collect them but here is a little story of my international find:

I took a trip overseas a few years back. There wasn't much to do at the time so I decided that I would buy some type of console to keep me busy. I ended up at this little corner store and found a console called the terminator<--LOL. It basically looked like a genesis. I checked out the games and they all looked like famicom carts. Anyhow, I picked up like 3 carts and went home. Each one turned out to be a multicart with about 30 games each if I remember correctly. All of the games were NES games with a few genesis games thrown in. I think I picked up everything new for like 25 bux (console and games). I wish I had brought it all back with me but I didn't have room in my suitcases. By the way, the store had tons of different multicarts for sale. They were only like $1-$2 a piece.

Probably the most extensive list of clones I have ever seen. BTW, the "Terminator" is there too!

I used to collect them...But I've sold off 90% of them by now and have two that I want to sell on Ebay..but I don't know what they are called(to create the listing)

I was interested for a while, but living a few years in Thailand/Malaysia knocked it out of me. Wayyyy too many clones out there to keep up with, and way too many multicarts with the same ol roms.

I'll still pick one up if it's interesting/funny/cool, or interesting tech (like a Treamcast) but there's gotta be a few hundred different famiclones out there...

That's the one. The funny thing is that it uses famicom carts and looks like a genesis.

I have a few oddballs, including a stick thing with Sachen / Joy Van (?!) games I haven't seen anywhere else.

The thing is a pain to use, since the included cart will not work with any other system...

i probably got about 40-45 pirated famicom carts, and a famiclone system

with the carts they range from 1 game each- 1,000,000 (lol in reality 5), there are a few carts i have which hold some HKO's and a few which have mario instead of the main character in certain titles (adventure island 2, joe and mac caveman ninja for example)

i also got stuff like the complete rockman collection on one cart, some bizzare rip off featuring harry potter and many many more

i also got a few nes multi's and a pirate nes version of mappy

have a few super famicom pirate multi carts too

im not too keen on buying pirates but if i see something a little obscure in the wild i try to pick it up, i saw all of these at various times and just bought them due to not seeing them before and they hold a kind of quirkiness to them

I had one of those N64 looking gamepads with the "76000" NES games built in a while back. Of course there were really like 100 original titles, and the rest were just the same games over again, just glitched up/changed in some way or other. Funny too, I got this at a stand at a local mall. Then again, he was only there for two days...probably got caught!

I don't collect pirated systems/carts exclusively, but I do have a passion for them, I have a few NES and SNES multicarts, I especially like the combo systems like the FC Twin and the Gen-X, and I am an absolute sucker for those plug & Play Famiclones + 100 games-in-an-N64 controller, as well as Famiclones shaped like other modern systems, or penguins, or shaped like anything other than a game system...

And I just ordered a Onestation with a 99 game cartridge yesterday.

I'm not sure what exactly it IS about clone and pirate systems ... but I do enjoy collecting them!

I have a Pirate GBA Game that is supposed to be Tiger Woods PGA Golf but is instead some Yugioh game. The box itself seems kind of odd (cant really put a reason on why, it just doesnt look right to me) and the manual is only 6 pages long.. The game description on the back of the box just lists copyright information, and it lists at the top that it is "Not compatible with other GASMEBOY systems."

I used to buy them every once in a while, when my local flea market would have a wide range. I'd also pick up a few carts when I'd find them in a thrift store. Bought one with a HoneyBee Famicom-to-NES converter attached, sold as a single cart. :) My personal favorites are ones with totally ridiculous hacks on them, like a single color badly drawn Sonic replacing Mario in Super Mario Bros.

Not exclusively, but I have quite a collection of bootleg and multicarts for NES!
