Have been organizing my collection and found what I think is complete Laser Cycles by TSI for C64. Comes in a heavy plastic bag (much heavier than a baggie) and has a yellow card in the baggie along with the cart. What is interesting is the card says "Light Cycles" instead of "Laser Cycles". The cart does say Laser Cycles though. Also on the card is "Creative Equipment" in Florida, the back of the cart has instructions and also mentions Creative Equipment with address and phone number. C64 carts not my specialty, anyone have any info on this (rarity guide says "9"), and does anyone here have one?

I've got one:

I don't have any rarity information, but I know they aren't easy to come by.

Search for 'Mayhem' (his website's listed too) here on DP, he's got every C64 cartridge in the known universe, and some more. So he'll know for sure.

I'll do that, thanks. I know him, he has one of the ultra rare Mt. Drash cassettes for VIC20 (in fact he has Drash complete with box and manual). Did not know he collected Commodore carts though. From pics posted game does look a lot like the old arcade game Tron, I put a few quarters in that one over time.

What is interesting is the card says "Light Cycles" instead of "Laser Cycles".I notice the screen shot just says "TSI Cycles" too. I would guess they were originally going to call it Light Cycles but had to change the name for legal reasons. BTW, one loose cart sold recently on ebay with a $140 BIN!

Been away for the last few days, but a nice topic to come back to :)

I do have TSI Laser Cycles (website link in sig!)... I know exactly the format you are talking about, I have a copy of Turbo Mazeman in the same way. All my other TSI games are loose, except for Falconian Invaders which actually has a box! I don't think I've seen one apart from this.

I've been running with the Commodore 64 guide for DP since 2000 (solo since 2002) and the Vic20 since 2004. Being in charge is part inspiration for the acquisition and monitoring of rarity and price ;)

(mind you I didn't see the BIN of $140 on the Laser Cycles, thanks for mentioning that Keir. I only know of a handful of them about)

Wow, $140, thanks for that info :) May have to find space to hookup the 'ol 128 and have a look. My favorite computer gaming days were on the 128, mostly older RPGs, Ultima V (great music if you played on 128, not so with 64) and Magic Candle 1 my two all time favorites. But Bard's Tales/Dragon Wars, Wizardry's, Might and Magics, Quest Software games and many others were great too. Gold Box D+D SSIs (though sadly the last in each series didn't make it to the Commodore) and SSI Shard of Spring and Demon's Winter were excellent. Even the Phantasies with the unbelievably slow disk load times (1+2, 3 much better) were wonderful. The hardest part was backing up some of the disks, good thing for Maverick. Never played Legend of Blacksilver (the last of the Quest Software series) as I could not backup the disk, needed a hardware upgrade for the disk drive.

(Raises hand)

My C64 rares are CIB Bug Crusher, Lode Runner, Diamond Mine (Which I've had from when it was originally out)

NO WAY in hell is River Raid a 4 in rarity!!!!! I've been looking for 20 years, and have yet to see one!

It does turn up on eBay every so often... though I am always revising and assessing rarity and price. I might hit it up one notch... Pastfinder is still the hardest Activision cart to locate though.

There IS a River Raid cart from Australia on eBay at this moment btw... mind you, finding the box and manual for the US release is almost impossible for whatever reason, I think I only know one other person with a complete copy aside from myself.
