Hey, I got a problem. I think the hard drive is bad in my area 51. A screen comes up with idi issues and at the bottom reads three clicks *or something like that* and youre out, but under tests everything seems to be running great, but I get no response from the hard drive. If it is a hard drive is there anything special on the hard drive or can i just use a computer type hard drive? Was going to check arcadedocs but site appears to be down.

When I bought my area 51 machine about 2 weeks ago it came with a conversion manual, this is what it says the led on pcb is doing near the hd cable
yellow-drive busy--flashing intermittently--normal
continuosly off--hard drive not reading
continuosly on--hard drive error
Hard Disk -- zero division message at top of screen hard drive not connected.
Anyways they have Area 51 hard drives on ebay I think they are the better 10gb hard drives with the the game already on it for BIN for 25 dollars.
Yeah, you can get a replacement on ebay, or if you have your own HD, you can download the Area 51 chd for MAME and image it to a hard drive. Here's some instructions to do that: http://aarongiles.com/?p=97 .
