I'm headed up there for a few days - are there any good classic gaming stores? Anything with NES stuff or otherwise?

Dave's a good guy. Alwyas has soemthing for me to buy when I go.
There were also a few stores closer to the Packers stadium that we went to. had some decent stuff. Dave would know where they are.

Dang. I go to green bay quite often, but never knew about dave's store. I have been to a store that is on Oneida(?) right near the mall. It might be called Video Replay? Replay something anyway. Prices there really aren't too bad, actually, from what I recall at least.

It's called Pre-Played and it sucks. The Pre-Played stores here in Madison are excellent. The one in Green Bay...not so much. The terrible selection consists of chewed up Xbox games and loose N64 carts for $25. Stay away! The Pre-Played in Appleton (now called Mega Media Exchange) is alright.

Well, I'm two for four on finds at a tiny thrift store over in DePere. Picked up a complete big box Grim Fandango one time and a complete Golden Axe II another time. It is a block from my in-law's house, so I go whenever we visit (now that I know about it).

I've been open for 4 years and you haven't stopped by. Next time your in town introduce yourself and I'll let you in the back room....thats an adventure of its own.
On Oneida there is a Pre-Played which is different from the Take 2/Pre played/ Mega Media Exchange chain of stores.
At pre played I picked a Panzer Dragoon Saga once for $8.99, Intelligent Qube for $15, and a friend bought Atari 2600 Waterworld for $1.99 there a few months ago.
We als ohave 2 GB Games one across the street from Mega Media Exchange and the other on the corner of Main and Mason on the east side.

Nice finds at the pre-played! My impression being there was either they didn't know what was good out of the classics (so it was priced low and sold immediately), or they cherry pick the good stuff to sell on eBay. Either way, they had mostly classic junk, but really the prices weren't that horrible.
You can bet I'll stop by your store next time, dave. Just didn't know about it till now.

You owe it to yourself to go to Dave's store. Its one of the best there is in my opinion.
Mega Media Exchange in Appleton has been good to me as well.

Oh man, I hope you have some time on your hands, and money bags too. Bring your list of orphans needs when on the way to the back room of death. I have completed many a genesis game in the back room. Even found some "odd" odds and ends.

I've been in Dave's back room. Now if only I was a collector of some of the older stuff I would have had a full trunk.
I only regret not making it up there one last time before my move last summer.

Total bummer. I was in GB this weekend and sought out this store, but to no avail. I guess they closed up the end of last month, not because it went under necessarily, just didn't need a storefront for the majority of their business. This is according to a guy in a nearby consignment shop. In all honesty, it had to be a good decision, as that is one of the most pathetic malls I've ever seen.
Anyway, just FYI in case anyone else finds this thread. I'd definitely be interested if Dave decides to reopen in another location!

As far as I know, they're gonna concentrate on Arcade Cabinets now. BTW, they do excellent work.
Also if you're up around there, there's Mister Money, which is pretty close (probably the consignment shop you stopped at), GB games, which is down the road, and another one on military rd, Take 2 (or whatever they're called now) is across the one on military. They have games too. Plus there are a couple of gamestops around green bay as well. Answer: TONS of places in GB.

I don't know about in green bay but for a pawn/payday loan place the mister money here in Sioux City Iowa is pretty top notch...too bad I didn't notice that they had more than just the payday loan side of the business until about 2 years after I moved to sioux city.

Yes, we closed on April 30th. Lots of different factors including a 21 day hold policy where everything traded in had to be held for 21 days, which really cut into our sales.
The mall refusing to do any of the construction and updates they promised a year and a half ago.The mall wanting to raise our rent and wanting a long term contract.
We also enjoy building and restoring arcade machines much more than we did buying and selling video games. Our arcade business and arcade artwork business have both really grown in the last 2 months. Plus we do house calls for people with broken arcade machines. I just need to learn how to fix pinball machines and I have at least 10 service calls lined up there.
Most of the stuff from the store is packed in a storage unit and my house right now. We plan on selling everything at MGC, Cinciclassic, CGE, and a few other local shows we have in the area. We will also be listing tons of stuff on our website as soon as i get the shopping cart added to the site.
You should stop by on August 15th, i'm having a party at my place. We just finished installing the tap system for the bar, added suround sound in the basement, and picked up 4 new arcade machines. Gorf, Wizard of Wor, Satans Hollow, and Michael Jacksons Moonwalker.

I stopped at Preplayed on Oneida when I was in GB for a weekend. Not very impressed. Wish I woul,d have known about Dave's store!
Also, not sure if you are into the LAN gaming scene, but there is a place on Oneida called Infinet Arena, and it's pretty sweet.
