Street fighter the movie ( promo not for resale)

Just lookin to see if these are worth much . Not looking to sell or anything though . I like collecting the soundtracks and have alot more than this.

Well I can say that the Fox Hunt one isn't worth more than a few bucks - I got this when I bought the PC version of the game, and it cost me like $4 shipped.

It still rocks, of course. ;)

Are those DDR soundtracks legit or bootleg / SonMay / Everanime?

yeah the Final fantasy ones and ddr ones are bootleg. Some of them are ok some sound very crappy compared to the non bootleg ones.

None of them stand out to me as being particularly valuable, although I could be wrong since I do tend to focus more on the Japanese side of soundtrack releases. To the best of my knowledge, though, very few US game soundtracks are worth all that much.

Very cool assortment of stuff you got there, though. :)

I know the panic on funkatron one is part of a 5 pack that was fairly tough to find back in the day.

Oh yeah, I've heard that Interstate 76 one is really valuable for some reason. I think it only had a very small run.

Didn't even know there was a Funkatron soundtrack! Do you know what else came with it?

If you want rid of it, Daft Punk, I'll buy it from you ^_^

I know the Vectorman Segatunes CD was also a part of the Segatunes set. I'm not sure about what the others are.

X-Men 2 (yay Kurt Harland!) and Comix Zone are two others. I think the fifth one was a Sonic album.

Those DDR soundtracks may be bootleg, but there were some real ones out there. I gave these away as part of a contest on my site a few years back.

I didnt know they came in a pack . Ive seen the separate about 5 -6 years ago in a big lots store. I bought the vectorman and sonic one but lost or sold them or something.

hmm I might should go snag the other one thats $4 .

I don't like buying pc game soundtracks too much just because they usually are not too hard to get.

Is the Comix Zone one the same as the one that was free with the Genesis game? I know the Eur / US ones are different - the US one is just a compilation of songs by famous bands.

Hm, will have to keep an eye out for these - Sonic / Funkatron ones especially - love retro osts, especially Genesis/MD! They're hard to find here though. :(

I'm not sure. I know the PC version of Comix Zone had an arranged game soundtrack CD included, which was completely freakin' AWESOME.

ProgrammingAce:
Those soundtracks were given away with preorders of the games and don't really contain more than five songs. I know they exist - but they're not the two CD original soundtracks. ;p

they were probably also released seperately but I picked it up as a set of 5, they came in a slipbox wrapped in celephane, I should still have it around. the other cds were comic zone and xmen2.

One was full length, the other was only 5 songs. But yeah, they were just preorder bonuses. I ended up with a case of each at one point. I might still have some left.

Original DDR soundtracks are out there (i've got a pair of real ones for 2nd and 4th mix), but man oh man are there bootleg ones out the ass for DDR soundtracks.

From what i'm seeing most of what you got isn't anything special.

Huh, that's interesting. I was watching Kitsune Sniper's auction for the Interstate 76 album, and I was surprised to see it sell for so much. I've never even heard of the game before, let alone the soundtrack. Can't say I've ever heard of the composer either. Ya learn something new everyday.

So much? I heard it sold for $75 on average! I had bad luck this time.

Seriously though, I hate hate hate hate HATE the game, but the music is fucking AMAZING. It's all 70's style cop show awesomeness.

Aussie2B

Heh, I guess it's all relative. In general, I'm surprised to see any American-released game soundtrack sell for more than 10 or 15 bucks tops, with just a couple exceptions. Sorry, your auction luck wasn't so great, though, I didn't mean to rub salt in the wound or anything.

Actually, I've been hearing talk over the last year or two about big money soundtracks not pulling in quite what they used to. I don't know how much truth there is to that, but it's interesting. I know that a couple years back I bought a soundtrack for 90 bucks, the most I've ever paid for one, and then about a year later it started popping up on eBay and selling for 40 or 50 bucks. It's definitely an unstable market, I'll give soundtrack collecting that much.

I think it's mostly due to the damn bootleggers, like the guy that sells "salvage" soundtracks on eBay.

Aussie2B
02-18-2008, 09:30 PM
Hah, yeah, that guy is the epitome of a scumbag. I mean, the normal bootleggers are bad enough with their auctions that don't give enough information to determine if an item is legit or not, but that guy actually tries to convince people that he's got official merchandise and makes up a BS story as to why they're not in the original packaging. What a winner.
