Well, I bought Super Mario Deluxe for GBC at my local game store a few months ago and I have been thoroughly enjoying it. I enjoyed it so much, I decided to get some more Deluxe action on a bigger screen via GBC emulation (I know....shame on me). Anyway, I noticed on the PC emulation, the intro screen before the main intro screen has the old SMB logo with the words "Since 1985" below it. What's strange is that my GBC cart of this game has a totally different screen. The screen is a close up picture of the SMB intro box (Mario hitting the lava & bricks while shooting a fireball) along with the words " GOOD LUCK...........Ya Right!". Well, All the SMB Deluxe roms have the same intro as the first rom. I can't find any info on the web about this, anyone have any idea why this other intro screen is on my GBC cart?

The most likely explanation is that your GBC cart is a bootleg.

Close scrutiny of the cart and a guide to the telltale signs of a GBC bootleg will probably reveal if that is the case.

What's a good guide to the signs of a bootleg GBC cart?

Oops! I just found out on another site that you can import your own message via a "toy box item" if all the levels are beaten. Thanks for the help though:)

From cheatscodesguides.com:

Super Mario Bros. Deluxe Hint: The Round Table
Beat the first four levels (the first world) and then go to the toy box. There will be a little hole in the wall in the lower left corner. Enter it, and you will see a round table. Each time you beat a world 1-7, a new Toadstool guy will appear, and the princess appears after you beat world 8. The Toads let you print things! If you go to Peach, you can change the message that appears when you start up the game (now that you have beaten world 8.)

I'm pretty sure I've seen this same question asked on other message boards in the past.
