Got a message from ebay today stating that one of my items (GameCube Freeloader) was not legit, and has been pulled. I replied with "Item has been paid for and shipped!"
:)
Their response was "Treat it as a regular sale, but feedback can not be left from either party."
I didn't realize the Freeloader was not supposed to be sold on ebay, and have sold them previously on ebay with no problems from ebay what-so-ever.
Oh well....
At least they didn't pull the payment from my account....

A friend of mine had something similar happen to him... he bought something on eBay, then after the item was shipped, he got an email from eBay saying that the transaction was cancelled and that he could ask for a refund if he wanted.
So be careful. If your buyer is a dick he might try to pull that on you.

Didn't think about the refund....
Hopefully everything goes through smoothly. I have emailed the buyer, but he has not responded yet.
Should have sold it here on DP, as the Freeloader was new and it's very easy to use.
I use it for PC-Genjin (Bonk's Adventure) on the Gamecube.

SHouldn't be a problem. In fact, you're likely to benefit as eBay will refund your FVF for the item.

This happened to me once. I bought some promo Pokemon cards for $3. The guy was very nice, even included five that weren't part of the auction. I paid, ebay pulled the auction. Guy e-mailed me saying someone reported him for having the lot in the wrong section (it was in Trading Cards when it should have been in TCG) but that the cards were in the mail.

Since when does ebay pull auctions that aren't listed in the right category?

eBay pulls all sorts of things based on whiny members. I had an Aladdin Deck Enhancer with 7 games pulled because they said I was cirumventing eBay fees at $14.95 for shipping ? WTF ?

My situation did happen a few years ago, so things might be different now, but you used to be able to screw with just about anyone by complaining about very minor things.
Apparently, their reasoning was that he put the cards in the wrong section to fool someone into buying the wrong thing.

Uh. That is pretty high, for most people. Most of the complaints I get are because my shipping costs are high, but it's not my fault, it's the goddamn USPS. >_<
But I figure you were using Priority Mail or UPS, right?

Ebay can do that because items sold in some categories have higher final value fees than others. I can only speak for Ebay UK, but if you list something in the Video Games category, you're subject to a 9% fvf, whereas in another category the fees are lower.
Dey gotta squeeze every penny. :grumble:

Yeah, but there are limits.
I recently won a Portrait of Ruin pre-order bonus off Ebay, and got stuck with a 30 dollar shipping fee. I paid it, but not without warning the seller that the item had better arrive in a gold box carried by beautiful virgins.
Lesson learned: before bidding on anything, get a shipping cost quoted.

For the Deck Enhancer and 7 games, it's probably not so bad. It's the assholes who charge that much for ONE game that need to be stopped. And even then, $15 is a bargain compared to what some of them try to charge.
