Rumor - 360 already has 2 new chipset revisions planned

'Opus' and 'Valhalla' are the supposed code names.

"Opus" will be the 3rd generation chipset that will fit in any previous 360 console. Even if it has an undependable Xenon chipset. MS is making these to replace older units that have red-ringed. And according to the article, still no HDMI.

The "Valhalla" chipset will be both 65nm CPU and GPU on one single chip. Which usually means only one thing - the 360's getting a redesign...

About time for a re-design, i still don't have a 360 after giving mine away. I'm bypassing the opus chip for the Dilbert chip though.

I think I'll wait for Valhalla. I've waited this long already so why not. They have to have a redesign at some point unless they are going to slap the 360 on a chip into the next gen Xbox3.

You realize valhalla is sevaral years out, right? There were 6 major revisions to the xbox1, the last one with the condensed parts was under the code name xblade. It was only put out in the last year of manufacturing. I would expect the same from valhalla...

Ha I didn't end up getting my Xbox1 until it's last year. I wonder if that has the new chipset you were talking about. It came with a Star Wars / Tetris pack in. Not much out for the 360 that I'm dying to try besides Ace Combat and Forza. But if Ace Combat is coming to PS3 I guess that just leaves Forza.
