Was there a version of this game that did NOT come with the car in the top left hand corner of the box? Does anyone know for certain? Thanks.

I know there was a version with a clear plastic window and another version still with a car but no window. I'm not sure however if there is one without it. I know I have a ton of N64 orphans and I think I have 3 different variations, but I can't remember what the third is. I don't have them with me, but if you don't get an answer and I don't forget, next time I have access to them, I will take a look.

Well, the English (probably Europe and Australia too) PAL version did not have a car. I'm still not over it

Hey Vectorman0, did you ever happen to get a chance to check those boxes out?
Anyone else that might know the answer to this?

I just dug them out and I have a spare box with no mention of a free car on the cover. This box also has the built in cart tray seen in later releases. I guess it's possible that it came with one anyway, but I doubt anyone would change the cover art for no reason at all. I also have a cardboard box with no window, with a picture (drawn, not a photo) of the free vehicle instead. This uses the old style removable cart tray (though I guess it may come with a custom one for the car). Both of these boxes share the same Nintendo part number: NUS-NV3E-USA.
I was going to take a picture for you, but my camera batteries are dead. If you want one, PM me and I will get one for you once I get some new batteries.

& i will reiterate what I said about the PAL release even though you may not be referring to this format, but my copy did not have the car (or any space designed to hold a car).
