Since I splurged and picked up a generation NEX, i can now play famicom games without messing around with the converter (which never worked well for me), so i've started scouting out ebay looking for some games. however, for a lot of them, i can find absolutely no info about the games. is there a site that has info on this (and is in english)?
also, is there a good place to look for famicom carts outside of ebay?

Don't know about info except Japan, try some Japanese Famicom websites.
UKs Retrogames has quite a few Famicom games for sale, boxed and unboxed, expensive though, but he ships worldwide:

If you are planning on going to Anime Central in Chicago or Midwest Gaming Classic in WI, then stop by my booth (Mad-Gear) I have 200 sqft crammed full of import games and I ususally have 20-30 of the best non US famicom releases for sale (both boxed and unboxed) as well as a demo TV for you to try them out on.

I'll vouch for 16-bit, I've done plenty of business with him on eBay over the years - everything is always in excellent shape.

I may stop by the Midwest Gaming Classic, if I don't have to work, I will definitely try and lure someone into coming up there with me.
Does Anime Central have a lot of that kind of stuff? I have absolutely zero interest in anime, but if there are going to be a bunch of people selling famicom games, it might be worth stopping by...

Do you ever attend A-Kon in Dallas?

Yes and this year will be my third year there. In total I should be attending 17-20 shows this year across the country. My convention list is on my website: www.mad-gear.com
Overall, I think the best place to buy from me would be the midwest gaming classic. It is a really good show and worth traveling for IMO.

If you have zero interest in anime, I would not suggest going to ACEN.
