Does anyone have Strider 2 for playstation. I played and beat Strider for the NES and I really wanted to get this one. I'm willing to pay a resonable price for it.

I see you're new here. Just so you know, we have a rule that new members have to wait 10 days until they can access the Buying & Selling forum. When your ten days have passed, you can make your thread there.

I was really disappointed by Strider 2. The art style was awesome, but I was pretty let down by the gameplay...in the end, I wound up playing the Strider 1 disc a lot more than Strider 2 and it remains one of the few japanese games that I actually traded back in. Picked up another copy a few months ago to give it a shot again and didn't find it as easy as I did back then, but it still didn't manage to grab me.

Looks awesome as fuck, at least.

Here's a question to ponder: was the Strider that came out in the arcade and for the Genesis actually Strider? I've been discussing this with my friend Sam lately (webmaster of the Light Sword Cypher Mainframe (http://www.lscmainframe.net/)), and he's of the opinion that the Strider arcade game originally had nothing to do with Strider Hiryu.

Promotional flyers for a game called "The Falcon" surfaced quite a while back on the old Classicgaming.com Japan Gaming site (run by Gaijin Punch). Aside from the name, it was clearly Strider. Sam's of the opinion that Capcom was in the process of developing this game, but when they bought the rights to the Strider manga, they found they could easily change "the Falcon" character over to Hiryu and get some more mileage out of the license, so they did. The story of the manga was used in the NES/(unreleased) Famicom game, but virtually nothing from the story of the manga was in the arcade game, aside from Hiryu.

This is all conjecture, of course, but it would explain why the NES and arcade games are so different, despite being released so closely together.
