I've been racking my brain, trying to think of a good topic for my triumphant return, and I finally came up with one!

How many people have a weird name for their collection, or do any weird rituals with them?

For example, I have my PS2, GC, XB, SNES2, Genesis3, NES, and Atari 2600 all hooked up at one time via daisy chaining to one TV.

I call this setup by two different names:

Kal-El

Fortress of Rockitude

I also realized recently that I sleep with half of my NES collection next to the head of my bed.

Anyone else have any weird things like that they do with their collection of games?

*braces self for the first person to call their collection "My PRECIOUSSSSSS"*

I call mine "Gaming Nirvana." Even had a metal sign made up with the name on it leading into it.

I only have two rituals that I do..

Before I go to sleep at night I tap the side of my Neo Geo Cab,..the light switch is right next to it ...

I've been doing that since I got it..It has become a ritual and i have no clue on why I do it..

The only other ritual have is ...I play a Game of League Bowling on the cab before I go Bowling..on my team in a League..

Ever since I started doing this my Real life Bowling average has went up.

I too have over 20 systems hooked to my tv, along with all else in my Entertainment center.

It is called, The Fire Trap.

There's a shitload of cords, plugs, powerstrips, 8 way splitters, etc., back there.

I long for the day they invent the cordless extension cord.

I did have a Wire mass of systems hooked up myself..It took a few hours to hook it all up..
But it being a "Fire Trap" got me worried so I took all the wiring apart..and just hook up a system when I want to play it..

My ritual begins at the end of the evening's gaming session. I turn off the console, and then carefully forget to turn off the TV (if I'm playing anything SNES or newer). The ritual concludes the next morning or evening when I realize that the TV is still on, and mutter a hearty oath.

My ritual is usually only when I gain new equipment. It collects in a box and every so often, I empty that box and take a picture of each thing inside, document the part numbers, serial numbers, and power ratings. Most of this info ends up getting put on my site.

No names, just the Room of Doom

All my cd based systems are up here in my bedroom...don't really have a name for it...I usually say "the new stuff is up here" despite having a CDX and a Saturn which are both older than my N64 in the basement...

Everything else resides in my Dungeon of Doom (aka the basement). I promise, as soon as I have everything all lined up...pictures will ensue...

My only ritual related to gaming is when I come across a 2600 cart dump at a thrift...After pulling out what I want, I always restack the carts with all of the third-party cartridge labels hidden. I orginally did this, somewhat perversely, to give the Sumguy that came in 2nd, a false hope that a rare title might be there to uncover.

But now I just do it out of habit...maybe half mystic ritual, half marking my thrifting territory. I suppose I could just pee all over the cart table, but that could cause problems that reverse stacking hasn't yet.

In terms of naming my collection, I am only male in a house with a wife and two daughters. My game room is the only spot in our house that has absolutely no feminine influence whatsoever. Hence my name for it...The Testostaroom.

I call mine the ticking time bomb. So many wires strewn about this floor, its only a matter of time before it explodes.

Since I work in the Promo Pod, my game room at home is the Escape Pod.

I don't really have a name for my game area. My wife has quite a few names for it though.

I won't repeat them here.

Well, I call the TV/Stereo/VCR/Saturn/PS2/SNES/DC/N64 setup "The Setup". The contents of "The Setup" frequently change though as I'm always rotating consoles on and off as I wish to play them or get a new game for them (e.g. N64 was just rotated ON, and the NTSC N64 rotated off). I suppose this could be called a ritual!

Another ritual I have is removing all carts and discs at the end of the day. I just like doing it! Seems neater that way!
