A pure fluff piece, of course, but feel free to agree or disagree with how "easy to play" or "accessible" these ten games are. I saw this list on my way to the Yahoo Sports! columns.

Shouldn't Steel Battalion or at least Morrowind be on this list?

They left out Tetris.
I'm surprised The Sims isn't on the last, I'm sure it's a lot easier to jump into and play than WoW.

Turned off by today's overly complex video games? Check out ten of our favorite accessible classics.
There's not a single CLASSIC on that list.
-Pong
-Pac-Man
-Tetris
-Galaxian/Galaga
-Space Invaders
-Bomberman
and that's just off the top of my head...
However, for modern games, that's not too bad a list. With the exception of WoW.

diskoboy, you know what the text under the Modern Gaming forum says. It doesn't have to be OLD to be CLASSIC.
Anyway, games that shouldn't have been on this list:
Puzzle Quest
World of Warcraft
I take them off the list, because a game that anyone could play, implies that it's a game my mom could play. My mom wouldn't get Puzzle Quest, and she wouldn't get WoW. No RPG elements, please. Leave those for me.

I know... I think I just said that because the older classics were totally ignored.
And I just thought of another one that IS modern: Pac-Man CE.
I was impressed to see Rez make the list.

WoW? Like to see grandpa pick up and play that one. How 'bout Super Monkey Ball or Geometry Wars?

When I hear "anyone can play" I assume kids and adult and most of those games are reading based so I doubt "anyone" could play them, especially anyone looking for games for their illiterate friends. I consider stuff anyone can play to be like the stuff I import where as long as I press start and get into a game I can play it fine without any language knowledge.

WOW(pun intended) what a crappy list. As has been said before I already had a few in my head that were no where on the list and most of those I would have put on there.
Rock Band? My mom tried guitar hero and got about 1/3 of the way through the song and gave up.

It's pretty obvious the list is composed of "recent" games, which is why there are no classics, Super Monkey Ball, etc. I think Rez is a little difficult for a game "anyone" could play...I don't think my mother could beat the final boss in the 1st level.

I agree. When I think of a game that anyone can play I would think of an older individual. IE someone that doesn't play games, yet can jump in quick and play with there kid/friends. Arcade games would proably fit the bill (ie most fighting games, bubble bobble, tetris, mario, megaman, etc). They should be simply, entertaining and have little story line if possible. A more intuitive game then WOW, would be Diablo 2... O_o

I would have replaced some of the things on that list with Animal Crossing, Tetris, and / or the Sims, too. I suppose WoW must be accessible to have so many subscribers, but...I'm really not sure that "anyone" could play it.
