I have some down time until Brawl comes out and I was wondering how much time do I need to put into Resident Evil Zero in order to beat it. If your a veteren of the resident evil series I need the average time not the "I beat the game in 3 hours 30 minutes and .001 seconds"(please don't be offended that was a small joke). The only other Resident Evil game I played was Resident evil 4 wii edition and that took me 22 hours, so please give me some feed back and I'll be a happy camper.

I'm pretty sure it only takes a little over 10 to beat. I know it isn't as long as RE4.

I never could get into RE 0 myself, It was the first game I ever got for the cube and at the time costs $50. But I really couldn't get down with the constant character switching. I think I was about halfway through it at 5 hours when I put it down. If that helps...

It is a bit of a departure from the series. Not so much as RE4 though.

Alot of people talk bad about the tank controls, I personally always liked it and it works well.

If you havent played the others I would start off with the classic Resident Evil 1 remake on cube. It is excellent and helps make the other games understandable plotwise.

It's the average survival horror length, so it's in between 6-8hrs. The game has mixed reviews, but I enjoyed it and thought the character switching concept was a breath of fresh air to the series.

Pretty much my exact thoughts on the game. I've beaten all of the main entries in the series except this and Code: Veronica. I liked C:V a lot more, but got to a point towards the end where I was low on ammo and there was pretty much no way for me to proceed, which killed my desire to start another playthrough.

RE0 took me around 10 hours to beat. It's a nice entry in the RE franchise, but suffers from a few annoying gameplay elements that aren't going to sit well with the RE fans that started with RE4. Mainly the "tank" controls, limited inventory space, and constant character switching. It still looks nice for a 6 yr. old game and better than 95% of Wii games for that matter.

Pro tip: Use the main entry hall of the mansion as your inventory dump. It will save a lot of time and frustration in the end.

RE 0 is a fine installment in the pre-RE 4 Resident Evil games, and having only played RE 4, you won't have a predisposition to judge RE 0 on it's lack of "inventory crates" ...

... that was my only gripe with that game ... the amazingly small amount of space they gave you to hold inventory, and NO crates through the game to dump your items for storage ... I hated the just drop em' where you are and they'll stay there inventory system.

Give it a shot ... I'd say that despite any time investments made, you'll know within the first 3 or 4 hours if you're going to be interested in playing it to completion.

I really enjoyed it until I got to the mansion. There are some ridiculous fights that simply ruin the fun of the game past that point. I think I got 3-4 hours into it and stopped. Stick with the remake of RE1 and move forward from there.
