Game gear question

Hey everyone

I got a game gear at the fleamarket a few days ago for $3. When I got home, I found that the audio was very very low even at max setting. The screen was also extremely dark and you could see nothing. I changed all the caps and now the audio and scrren work fine. My only issue is that when I first turn the thing on, it will sometimes shut itself off. Anyone know why it's doing this?

Also, do any of you have a good source for caps online? Radioshack charged me a total of 10 bux for replacement caps. :roll:

digikey.com or mouser.com are usually pretty good. You might have to get a lot of stuff to make up for shipping though. It's a good way to build up a part collection. You can add a ton more parts for really cheap and shipping should stay the same.

Most of the places to get the best deals aren't hobby friendly and make you buy 1000's at a time but these two are pretty good and I've used both.

Digikey seems pretty good. I gotta go through the site and see what they have.
