Based on the demo, I see no need to pick this up. It feels mostly last-gen and very me-too. I thought the intro was neat, what with having to ascend the skeleton of a skyscraper, but from the point you reach the ground forward it's just basic by-the-numbers Nazi slaughtering.
Note to developers and publishers: WWII shooters are tired. Let them be for 10 years and try again when you have something unique and worthwhile to contribute to the world of gaming.

There seem to be good ideas in it, but the demo seemed too linear. And there ain't nothin' wrong with killing more Nazis. The demo just didn't compel me to pick it up. I might end up getting it once it drops down to $30 or less.

So true. I wish Activision/Treyarch would figure this out before the embarrassment that is CoD5 is released.

I'm hoping COD5 is WWII again, modern shooters are just as tired. A well done WWII title such as the last two Brother in Arms titles and the upcoming Hell's Highway are among some of the the best military shooters I've ever played (Though I'm just speculating on Hell's Highway, but it looks great from the many detailed preview videos so far). Its hard to imagine a better setting for a military shooter than World War II, though I'd like to see other eras attempted by good developers such as the Civil War and WWI.

I thought it was going to be another treatise about the death of HD-DVD.
And no, I'm not a Sony fanboy. I own a 360. :)

Yes its a WWII shooter but it isnt the same ol same ol. I like the twist on history of Nazis invading America because it offers different settings compared to CoD and MoH. How is that not unique? I picked it up and I am enjoying it so far.

Except Treyarch actually is able to kick out a pretty decent WW2 game unlike, say, I don't know... Spark Unlimited (Turning Point, Finest Hour) or EALA (Medal of Honor Rising Sun). I'm really looking forward to seeing Treyarch's take on the pacific theater in CoD5, as it's a ridiculously underrepresented side of the conflict in first person shooters. Hell, it's the first CoD to tackle it (with 9 CoD games released so far) and the of the Medal of Honor games, there's only been two that looked at the pacific theater (out of over a dozen games).
Given Treyarch's pretty solid work on Big Red One and Call of Duty 3, I don't get the hate they're getting over working on the fifth game. Let's just hope they don't do a crappy Wii version again!

Have you ever heard of renting? I rent every 360 game that I'm interested in before I buy it. This is one I am interested in. It has a interesting twist to it that other WWII Shooters don't have.

The opening sequence was awesome, but as soon as they put a gun in your hand it falls apart. Gotta love the 2500 kill achievement because in a month (or less) the game will be dead.

Don't get me wrong, I think alternate histories are great settings for games, but I'm not going to put up with mediocrity and the same boring WWII-era rifles just because the developer took more than two minutes to come up with an interesting setting. I really wanted to like the demo, it just felt so 'me-too' that I doubt I could milk much enjoyment from it when there are so many other shooters out there.

Well, I picked the game up for pc yesterday and beat it the same day. It was pretty short. Whats up with the online multiplayer? It keeps saying no available servers.
Some random crap I found:
Fall down a ladder and unable to climb back up because the climb icon wont appear.
Some dead enemies hang in mid air...
Very short
Shitty enemy AI- I literally stood infront of one guy for like 3 minutes and he just stood there looking at me

I didn't even get off of the scaffolding on the demo. I didn't want to subject myself to any more shit FPS platforming. What in the blue hell is the point of showing the awesome visuals of New York being Nazi-bombed if you are looking at your motherfucking feet the whole time? :bullshit:

I just found out that the servers go online Tomorrow just incase anyone has the pc version. As for KanYozakura, I wasn't to impressed with the game. I just hope the multiplayer will make up for the rest of the issues.

This game is quite mediocre, judging from the demo.
Nothing is particularly well done here, putting a WWII game in the U.S. does not make this game any better or original, Freedom Fighters did something extremely similar over 4 years ago but it was a good game.
The worst thing by far though is the sensitivity of the aiming. There is no good sensitivity setting for this game, it is either way too slow or too fast.

I don't understand the hate this game is getting. I guess it would have been better if this was released much later.

How so? Do you mean if they had actually spent some time to bring it up to modern FPS standards? If so, I agree.
