the fair value is about $1250, for a NTSC version, the last one that I know of sold privately last week fro $1475 I believe.

as cheap as possible, but i guess it depends on who has it and what they know of it. cheap is always good

Last one I saw went for $1750.00 & that was months ago. Way more than I would pay for it.

Yep, spot on. I can see a nicer loose copy going for more if there happens to be another dry spell of 6-8 months without one on EBay though.

Does anyone know how many copies of this game exist?

hard to say an exact number, it was recalled very early on so nobody has any real idea how many copies made it out.

I think the number is grossly under-counted. I know I bought one in early to mid 1987 and returned it because it sucked (how would I know it would be worth $1,000's, I was 14). I also know for a 100% fact that it was NOT only available in Woolworth as some claim. I never went to WW. I bought it in either K-Mart or a store named Masters (very K-Mart like, might have been exclusive to Staten Island). I am sick that it is worth so much money.
