The C64 in particular has just been sitting in the basement. It came with a large lot of other stuff and I just don't have much interest in it. Then the other day I was talking to a guy that might be interested. What should I ask? He also happened to be interested in a 2600 Jr, which as nice as it is as a sleek revision and this one in particular is in great shape with plastic still on the metal bar, I just don't need it and the heavy sixer (and a 4 switch). It is the console only for sale.

What says the DP community? I don't find much on eBay to use as comps (all the Jr.s come with games, so I don't know how much that has to do with the price).

Pics are always nice:

I'm glad you put a picture up of the C64... what's the serial number on the bottom? I ask because you may have a Revision A C64 there, and it's worth much, much more than your bog standard breadbin. How do I know? The label poking out of the styrofoam. You can compare against pictures of my Revision A machine: http://www.mayhem64.co.uk/c64reva/c64reva.htm

I'd also open her up (easy to do, three screws on the bottom) and check the motherboard and the chip dates, take some pics of those. If it truly IS a Rev A, stick the bugger on eBay and hopefully you might get some cash for it ;)

Your wish = my command:

I stopped there because there is some thermal paste between parts of the rf shield and some of the chips. Was that original? I'll pop the rf shield off if it doesn't matter. I'm guessing at least something has been done to it, since somebody got a little overzealous w/ their screwdriver and drove some of the board's mounting screws right through the bottom.

Wow, "Made in the USA". That's something you really don't see on computers these days.

based on this website (http://ist.uwaterloo.ca/~schepers/MJK/c64__.html) and the ASSY # you can see on the board (250425), this is a version B.

oh well. $50 about what they go for now?

Yeah gotta say, that does look a Rev B board, but everything else screams Rev A. It doesn't look like it's been fiddled with much, so who knows. Might have thought it could have been switched, because Rev A's did have issues.

You could join somewhere like the forums of Lemon64 and ask there too, see what people think. Some people know more than me on this. Might give you an offer for it too.
