From last weekend's NAVA, where reporters caught us playing an Atari 2600-based tournament AND hosting special guest James "Angry Video Game Nerd" Rolfe.

That's really cool! They could have mentioned NAVA as the reason for the gathering, but the coverage is still exciting to see nonetheless!

Regarding that last part of the article: I've bought quite a few games he's reviewed, just to experience first hand how bad they are.
Except for Dr. Jekkel and Mr. Hyde. He's scared me away from that for the rest of my life.

Lis swears that regardless of that photographic evidence - she didn't fall asleep during the tournament. Especially not during Mike's game-winning run!

I've also bought a few games mainly because the AVGN has covered them.
(Though I eventually would have bought TMNT and Roger Rabbit anyways. I spent a lot of time with those back in the day.)
Very nice, good publicity indeed.
Your store and the meetings are the thing that's pulling me to studying art in NJ, haha.

Next is a local TV station picking up the story. This happens a lot. Some TV news reporters(mostly the lazy ones) scan the local paper for ideas. They are often so lazy, they use every single source in the paper, using the newpaper article as a blueprint for their story.
After that, untold fame and chicks taking their shirts off just to get your attention. Well, you may already have that kinda play with the ladies. ;)

Congrats to Joe and the AVGN. Although not a long article it is nice to see at least some attention on this hobby from time to time. It would be nice if our newpaper had a video game area next to movies, music, and other things in the entertainment section. It'd be interesting to hear about new faces at your store that learned about it from articles.
