Posted this at assember, I figured you kids would enjoy it as well.

Sega Players Enjoy Club (http://www.gamengai.com/bn_ix.php?type=book&date=2008-03-03&exact=t) was Sega's old newsletter/manga back in the day. There's some really cool shit in here, mainly the various Phantasy Star manga strips which were drawn by various Phantasy Star staff members. Even Rie Kodama did one.

That's the whole set up there. Enjoy.

Yeah, it's just the covers. I can't scan any of the pages w/o damaging the spines, so I'm kind of stuck w/ that. There are some low res scans of the pages on the interweb somwhere. Here you go (http://gyo.hp.infoseek.co.jp/etc/spec.htm)

Ah, understandable. Let us know when you magically happen upon another set to destroy, heh. I'm glad things like these are (even if partially) scanned and archived on the internet...otherwise these would probably be forgotten and destroyed, as I'm sure several copies already have been.

Kind of striking how abruptly it seems to go from some seriously beautiful illustrations to... blurry Sonic. These are awesome, thanks for posting them here.

There are scanners out there which feature the bed going all the way to the edge, which means you can (apparently) scan books w/o ripping the ass out of the spine. I don't have one, and I'm not sure if they are available here. They're kind of pricey ($300 or so) and bulky to use for a few book projects. I'd rather get an A3 scanner and get some old promo posters scanned and archived.

I searched around. Apparently you can buy an A1 scanner (Japanese arcade poster) for about 2 million yen. :)

I'm pretty sure these have been posted at smspower.org but maybe not all of them.

Google turns up very little, unfortuantely. "SPEC" isn't the easiest thing to search.
