Ever since I first got into emulation a few years ago I've been trying to find a game that played like the arcade game Nam 1945 for the Neo Geo or like the game Wild Guns for the SNES. It was an arcade game that played essentially like those games where you're on one plane and you're shooting on a one panel stage. You moved a cursor around when you were shooting then when you weren't shooting you would move your character. The characters were a cowboy and an indian. I remember that the enviornments were very destructable and when you would finish a stage they characters dance then basically "do the Mario" then pretty much teleport into the background until they disappeared into the horizon. I have no idea what the name of the game might be, when it was made or who made it. I know it wasn't Neo Geo though.
That sounds like Blood Brothers or Cabal.

Hells yeah man. Blood Bros.! Thanks. Damn I loved that game. It just never stayed in an arcade longer than a couple months where I would go as a kid. I could remember easily spending a full $5 at a time on that game. Woo Hoo.

Were we in 'Nam in 1945? Damn, I am still disoriented from the LSD trips.

LOL
Exactly what I was thinking. 'Nam didn't even exist in 1945...French Indochina.

Dynamite Duke is kind of similar, but it's not that good of a game from what I remember.

A bit of a side note, get Sin & Punishment for the N64 or Wii VC if you want what I think is the pinnacle of this type of shooter.
Rambo III, Devastators & Gi Joe are also great arcade games of this type.

Wild Guns is still my favorite example of whatever this genre is called, though Pirates (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=10874) and Dead Connection (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=7536) are also well worth checking out.

Neither is Nam-1975, for that matter.
