i saw the game complete with drum for $89, want to know how it is and what i should be paying if it's worth it. i passed this up and went for Para Para Paradise + a controller and MoonPresta greatest hits.

Taiko no Tatsujin (as I call it) is decent fun; very Japanese-goofy, slightly easier, and with a much sillier selection of music than Konami's rock-and-pop Drummania. The TnT drum registers hits on the left and right interior and left and right edges of the drum, and you can really pound the hell out of it. There are also two-player modes, which I've never taken advantage of, and mini-games, such as a series of 100-meter dashes in which you run against CPU opponents by drumming as fast as your bloody hands can manage.

I'm glad I own TnT simply for its goofiness factor, but I think you have a better game with PPP. Wanna trade? Heh.

Well just reading that alone I went out and got it. Damn cool. Parapara is too much for me really, my woman loves it tho.

If you want good music games, get Konami's Guitar Freaks 3rd Mix & Drummania 2nd Mix. They both come on the same disc, and with a multitap, you can hook up two guitar controllers a drum controller for "session mode" so I'm told. Pictures of the insanity are here: http://www.konamijpn.com/products/gf3_dm2/session.html I want it so bad it hurts.

Session mode is wonderful. We had a "limited" session (one guitar instead of two) at a gaming party that went so well, the partygoers demanded I bring a second guitar next time. Heh.
