Hi, I recently found a usa version neo geo aes system but it doesnt seem to work (just doesnt turn on).
from what I heard from my friends was that it used to work but one day it just stoped working.
are there any common problems with the usa neo geo aes? i thought maybe I could open it up and fix it. any suggestions on what to try or what to do?

also my friend is seling it for $135 is it worth it if it doesnt work? I know they sell on ebay for about $500-$600 when it does show up.

dear god 135 is a rip. You could buy a nice working system with a controller or two and a few cheap games for 200-300 possibly modded with a few upgrades. Don't buy.

this is a real USA version though not a Japan version, maybe I could fix it? maybe?

us versions don't really go for that much more. Is it boxed and complete? Certainly a few guys who could fix it for you out there. Personally aside from collecting I say get a JPN console its cheaper.

It's possible to fix but not worth it if you are paying $135 for it. It doesn't really matter if it is the USA or Japan version since the system does not have a region lock. The system is worth half that at most depending on what it comes with.

this one is in mint like new condition, comes with everything and im not a big fan of modding a system if its for show. (if it was to play sure ill mod it though)

I want to be able to tell people I have a US version of a neo geo aes.

well if its minty and complete and just for show thats cool but definetly pay less than 100 for it

true, but I dont want to mod with Ubios(?) chip to change the system language.

I also want to be able to say its working, I want it for show but I want it working thats why I want to fix it.

If you are looking for a show piece, I could be coerced into selling my boxed gold system. USA version with low serial number.

Trying to fix the broken one sounds like a fun project but I wouldn't try it unless you have a some background in electronics.
