I know of a bunch of /nes, Genesis, n64, and atari fansites but I cant seem to find any SNES fan sites. Does any one know of a good site devoted to the SNES? And can anyone tell me why there are no SNES sites?*_*

What's wrong with this site? ;)
After doing a brief search I didn't see much either. I don't know why they don't show up, but I'm sure there are some out there.

I was going to pop in here and plug www.snescentral.com run by our own Evan_G, but the site seems to be down right now. I'll mention it to him when he pops into #vbender tonight and see what he has to say.

Major emphasis placed on Super Nintendo, a secondary focus on Saturn, Super Famicom, retro magazines and miscellaneous life memories. In short, if you enjoy reading the mad ramblings of a nostalgic retro recollective gamer -- you've come to the right place

EDIT:
Evan's site is now at http://evan.whattheboat.com/snescentral/
There's also Corbie's www.super-nes.com
Ikermel's www.vgden.com
and Vyse's www.gamingsanctuary.com
All different SNES-related sites, including mine, which should occupy any SNES fan for a good length of time.

This isn't an SNES site, but here's a pretty nice top 100 list with a page dedicated to each game on the list:

^ Never seen that site til now... love it. Random crap kinda like mine and a unique vibe to the site that makes it stand out a little bit. That Top 100 piece is cool too -- I actually plan to do one of my own down the road :)

You don't see a huge amount of Super Nintendo fansites because us Genesis fanboys speak louder and carry bigger sticks ;)

NESPlayer is a great site. I've been visiting it here and there for a couple years now -- top stuff. I have some SNES "editorials" on my site already, with more on the way. At any rate, IMO it's uncommon to find too many sites that are identical to another, as different webmasters have different styles and what have you.

If you're looking for a quick review or pictures of a game on the SNES or any classic system, I would recommend http://www.thevideogamecritic.net (http://www.thevideogamecritic.net/), who is my favorite game reviewer. Also, http://www.consoleclassix.com (http://www.consoleclassix.com/) has pictures and a description of almost every game created.
There are not any websites devoted to NES or SNES or N64, IMO, the way Atari Age or Sega-16 are to those systems. I don't know why?

Thanks for all those sites. I have been looking for some SNES sites too, so this thread was perfect. Some of those sites are great.

I fixed the forwarding of snescentral.com, so it should point towards the current mirror. Hopefully I will get some time in the next couple of months to set up some new web hosting.

I'm a little late to the party, but better late than never right? :)
I started a Super Nintendo fansite that has reviews, articles, and a forum. Going to add more things to it in the future. It's a young site, but I'm sure it'll mature quickly if the SNES community wants to help it grow.
I encourage you to check it out at: www.playingwithsuperpower.com (http://www.playingwithsuperpower.com)
