I play a LOT of Guitar Hero 3. We have it at the arcade so pretty much if I'm not working on a machine or screwing around online I'm playing Guitar Hero. I also have Guitar Hero 3 at home on my Wii.

As I play Guitar Hero for the better part of 8 hours some days I consider myself to be pretty damn good, at least on the 360 version. Since I've purchased my HDTV I've never been able to tune in the lag just right to where I feel it should be and I've always written off my suckiness on the Wii version to that. Tonight I was bound and determined to play some GH3 at home, so I fired up my Wii and started playing. As usual, I sucked. I then tried to adjust the lag a little more to no luck.

So I picked a easy song I'm really familiar with, Helicopter. It started and immediately I noticed that the music is a higher pitch than what I'm used to hearing, I kept playing for a bit and I realized, the song is moving at a faster tempo than the 360's version does.

I can't imagine I'm the first person who has noticed this. A number of, if not all the songs on the Wii version of GH3 seem to be at a slightly faster tempo than the 360 version. Has anyone else clocked a number of hours in on both versions and noticed this speed difference?

I played the hell out of the Wii version, and when I moved in with my roomate, he had it for 360. I always noticed there was something pretty radically different, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Now that I hear this, I'm going to give it a closer look.

The original Guitar Hero discs for the Wii had mono sound, that is probably the issue you are having.

Mono sound wouldnt make the tempo seem faster, or the noise pitch higher though- would it? I don't see how that's possible, but I'm no expert.

I have both the mono and new updated version. I was playing the new version last night.
