Some 18 Vectrex carts (carts only) have come into my possession, and I'd like to play them as mother nature intended. Is there a source in the community for overlay reproductions? I suppose it *might* be technically difficult, but I'm sure someone out there could do it.

I've seen reproduced large sets of Vectex overlays sold on Ebay..

I'll have to do some checking and post the link..if I find some.

If "copies" or "repros" are ok, here are some links I can divulge:

http://www.dymium.com/vectrex/

^ Says they can make them near perfect, but it's been awhile since the site was updated. Personally, I'd do one first and see how the quality is, before doing a whole batch.

^ I printed some of these out ok and taped them to a piece of custon cut plexi for support. You'll have to do some resizing in Photoshop IIRC, but they work for their intended purpose.

Thanks for the info. I sent an email to the guy running the http://www.dymium.com/vectrex/ site. Sounds good, if he's still around I'll buy one and check it out. When I'm feeling a bit more constructive I'll try printing some out as well :)

Well, three homebrewers that I can think of offhand -- Mark DeSmet, Manu Parsinnen (may have that spelled wrong) and Alex Herbert -- have included overlays with their games (VecCaves, Boxing and Protector respectively), but I think you're thinking of Mark, as he had info on how he did it on his web page. I don't have the URL handy, but a web search on his name should turn him up.
