PS2 help Started with DRE then No Data

I recently got a used PS2 for my son, I tried to start it up and got DRE. So I opened it up cleaned the laser lens with alcohol, and blow everything off. When I hooked it back up the disc will only spin about a quarter turn and it doesn't appear as though the laser turns on, I get a no data prompt on the screen. Did I kill the laser with the alcohol?

Laser could be dead.

Transport could be dead.

Motherboard focus IC could be blown.

You've already tried the easy fix, nothing easy remains.
