My brother needs good party style games that are 4 players. Please refrain from mentioning Halo as that is obvious and stick with less known stuff. Thanks in advance.

I'm personally a big fan of XIII
star wars battefront II has 4 player
Republic Commando
Crimson Skies
Serious Sam II is 4 player co-op
Brothers in Arms
Burnout 3/Revenge (two of the best arcade racers ever, support up to 8 people)
DOA Ultimate is 4 player

Aside from Republic Commando, i love each and every one of these games and they're all an afternoon of fun.

Timesplitters 2 or Timesplitters: Future Perfect are sweet multiplayer first person shooters. There are so many options for different types of battles. I had people over last night playing 4 player on Future Perfect. They don't get boring because they have so many different options for scenarios and great maps. Cheap too, I got Timesplitters 2 for $5 at my local cd/game exchange. That helps if you want to get a couple of copies for system link gaming.

Agree with Timesplitters and XIII. Also look at Metal Arms, although it can't system link.

I'll get flamed for it, but I had fun with Dead Man's Hand, because it was just such a different shooter.

For a party/fighting game, you have to try out Kung Fu Chaos.

And there is always Super Monkey Ball.

X-Men Legends 1-2
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Crash Nitro Cart

Honestly, I would skip the X-Men Legends games in favor of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. The XML games had unfortunate story modes that required brief sections where only one person had to control some new (read: shitty) character they created specifically for the game. Lemme tell ya, there's no quicker way to kill a multiplayer buzz than having one person run around the X-Mansion as Ms. Generic for fifteen minutes.

I'll second the Timesplitters series. Great games, but then you'd expect no less from most of the same people behind Goldeneye.

Did they ever do a Gauntlet for Xbox? 4 player always makes me think Gauntlet.

MAME is also an option if your console's modded ;)

Triple quoted because it needs to be said more. Kung Fu Chaos is fun as hell in 4 player mode. Single player is "ok", but worth going through to unlock everything for multiplayer. Hell, you can just use a code or something to unlock everything from the get-go, too. Playing through the whole game in multiplayer is just insanely enjoyable.

We've killed multiple weekends playing it and if pretty much the whole crew didn't move away then we'd probably still be having weekend games of it.

Gauntlet II i on Midway Arcade Classics 2.

I don't care what people say, I always liked WHACKED! I just wish people still played it online.

Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows was 4 player on Xbox I believe. As for it being any good, that's another matter.

Did the Xbox version of Phantasy Star Online have four player splitscreen?

Thanks for the tips guys. I will direct him to this thread. He is a leader of the junior high youth ministry at church so the guy game is neither a good game nor appropriate.

Xbox PSO does at least two player, probably four, not sure offhand.

Thirding of whatever number we are on for Timesplitters, alyways great games. Better than Halo, hell Future Perfect has Halo's weapons in it anyway. I wanna say the Hunter games are 4 player as well.

The Bible Game had a Xbox release and is four players. There are quizzes and some minigames in it.

Oh, I can't believe I forgot to mention this game earlier, Spikeout: Battle Street. It has four player splitscreen, and a ton of unlockable characters to play as. The camera in the game can get a little wonky but it's a great 3D beat-em up, with a Streets of Rage feel to it.
Announcer: Here comes the Boss.

Believe me, when churches use video games to attract that difficult youth demographic, a successful turnout has nothing to do with Bible-related games. If anything, those would probably turn people away.

and here I was ....scared to mention Kung Fu Chaos because it flopped so badly. I too loved this game. It reminded me of a better Power Stone. Thank God, I'm not the only one who liked this.

Cool. I was triple quoted and re-quoted.

I'm surprised the original Fusion Frenzy isn't on this thread yet, unless I missed it. There are enough decent games of the 40 included to help pass some time.

I vaguely remember an Atari go-kart game that had a decent multiplayer, but I can't remember the title.

And this will definitely get me flamed, but I had fun playing Circus Maximus in co-op mode, with one guy driving the horses, the other chariot rider leaning for balance and attacking/defending.

You shouldn't lie to the poor kid like this. There are no redeeming qualities to Fusion Frenzy.

I have to beg to differ with that statement. There are a few games on there that are really good. I know this game got a lot of bad press, but there is some fun to be had with it.

I second Serious Sam.

Red Dead Revolver is a ton of fun for two players, I've never tried it with 4 but it looks like it's supported.

Sega Soccer Slam is pretty awesome. Even if you don't like soccer games at all.
