Something just dawned on me today.

I was talking about the old Game show Double Dare with a coworker, and then I remember the Game for the Nes. Obviously it was flawed in many ways.

But then I thought, wouldn't this be a great title for Wii.

Imagine, trying to catch an egg with your wiimote and nunchuk or, trying find the flag in the giant nose filled with buggers with the wiimote.

Anybody have any comments?

I would get this in a heartbeat. Who has the license of the game now I wonder? I can actually imagine some other cool accessories for this. Who has viacom/ nickelodeon's game rights?

Just found on Wikipedia that Viacom owns the rights to all of the different versions of the show.

no they shoudnt. this would be another piece of "shovel ware" people would complain about for the wii. while i love my wii and i love a lot of the games for it i believe this is a horrible idea.

The problem is I don't think Marc Summers isn't involved with Nickelodeon anymore. Marc Summers is the host most people associated the show with.

I remember Double Dare in the 1980's with him be a host. It was a program that I watched.

I know Marc Summers is doing shows for the Food Network nowdays.

The game shouldn't come out on any system due to that fact.

Game Show games have been considered to be shovelware for years. They get medicore scores at best as a game. The game shouldn't be released on a game system a result. Gametek did games on Game shows back in the day. Gametek proved that genre shouldn't be depending as keeping a company in business.

Yeah, the game you described sounds a lot like WarioWare, Cooking Mama, etc., etc.

Hmmm... All kinds of "action-oriented" kid's gameshows comes to mind:

- Fun House
- Finders Keepers
- Legends of the Hidden Temple
- Secrets of the Cryptkeeper's Haunted House
- Where in the World is Carmen San Diego (theme by Rockapella!)
- Where in Time is Carmen San Diego

Heck, why not toss in the original Beat the Clock and American Gladiators too?
