trying to id a game plz help

the game had skeletons that throw stuff at you it was a game that had a view like zelda 2 or rambo ''nes'' that type of view and it had creepy spooky levels i think it was nes and old pc game or the genesis i also remember tha in the levels you needed to go up then down

hope some1 can help me on this

Yeah, you weren't too specific. I said 8 Eyes because the game you described sounded like Castlevania, but you said it wasn't Castlevania.

That sounds like it may be it to me as well (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_Bash), do you remember having to shoot dogs and cats free from cages before proceeding to the next stage?

For some reason, the "cartoon" part made me think of Dragon's Lair. Of course, I would assume that you'd mention that the game is virtually unplayable :)
