360 Faceplate Collections

Just wondering... anyone on here collect faceplates for the 360? I was browsing ebay awhile back and was thinking that would be a neat thing to collect. Particularly with all of the limited runs/preorders/e3 ones.

I got a few of the e3 launch party ones a few years back (I actually got one for a security guy who was working the show in exchange for a few extra vouchers ;))

i dont really collect, but i have all 6 Ace Combat 6 faceplates and all 5 of the Eternal Sonata ones. and the Bioshock one.

i wish i had some of the other ones ive seen, but they are just too damn expensive!

I don't really collect them but I have a couple of cool ones, E305 is my favorite. Below is a debug xbox with a faceplate signed by the hardware development team. I like that one too. The european bioshock faceplate is better then the one we got in america.

The only others i'd buy are the faceplate with the orange "Console" printed on the front. (Japanese prototype), and the japanese chromehounds plate...

I would like to collect them but damn are some of the better ones too expensive. I have two which are Full Auto(butt ugly) and The Outfit and would like to get the one for Blue Dragon and Bioshock.

I'm actually in that situation, and speaking of cool faceplates. The console below red ringed on me once. It still works fine, but i'm not going to risk running it. I can't get a guarantee from microsoft that they'll send back the same console so it just sits on a shelf now.

I'm somewhat pissed.

Most were purchased on ebay. Definitely not going for quantity - there are a ton of faceplates out there but only a handful I don't consider ugly and/or worthless. Unfortunately the remaining ones are $100+ each and that's just too much.

A local Toys R Us, a few blocks down the road from me, is clearing out their remaining faceplates: the woody and the sparkly silver one.

I picked up the Woody for $3.20 and the Silver for $1.50. They had at least 5 more of each at the time (about a week ago).

I wish to hell I could find an Eternal Sonata face plate for $3. Even if it's only one. Most of them I've seen are pretty pricey....for my tastes at least.

The tropicana ones were $3 a pop - the Eternal Sonatas were around 10-20 each ;)

I only have 3 faceplates (excluding the standard white) and 2 are 3rd party. They are way too expensive but I do like having them for my favorite games.

You might wanna post on Cheapassgamer as there is a pretty good amount of them moving through the trading forums. I think you might have to offer more than $2 each though unless that didn't include shipping which is probably another $2 each at parcel post USPS rates.

Microsoft stopped making them awhile ago and since the new 360 slims don't have removable faceplates I doubt anyone still makes new ones.

I think it might very well have been. At least, I think it was the last of the game-specific faceplates. Maybe there was one or two more generic ones to be released shortly after?
