What's the appeal of these?

The ones after 3 offer originality in the form of buyable parts and stuff and all of them let you get more of a megaman fix.

They offer oldschool Mega Man platforming action on the go.

IIRC, the GBA Mega Man Anniversary Collection was going to feature the GB titles. It's a shame that was never released.

Also, the GB version of Mega Man 5 was an entirely new game featuring robots based on planets from our solar system, which was interesting.

I've been playing the first 3 GB titles today on my DC.

MM1: Pain. in. the. ass. hard. I was damn lucky to beat Wily with the shield item at the end with one life bar left.

MM2: Easy, beat that one sorta quickly once I knew what to do with Wily's AT-ST.

MM3: Playing that now, up to Sparkman. Made a few small mistakes in the areas, which sucked considering MM3 for the NES is my best title. Sparkman's stage has some tricky areas.

IMO, they aren't that great overall. I haven't played all of them but MM2 was just dull, 3 was OK, very rehashed if you ask me.

Each of the first four even feature an original character (which all make appearances again in Mega Man 5 which, as mentioned, is completely original).

What's the appeal of them? Well, if you are any fan of the NES mega Man games, they certainly don't suck. They were a good play, no doubt. I little rehashed for sure, but enjoyable.

After playing through the first 2 and almost finishing the 3rd, I actually like the level setups of these, as well as having to fight some new robot before fully entering Dr. Wily's fortress.

As a kid I really enjoyed the Mega Man GB games. As someone else said, they are fun Mega Man gaming on the go. If you are any kind of a Mega Man fan, I would definitely check them out.

I never got around to playing Mega Man 5 on GB... any good?
