so i was wonderin if there was any thing new comming out in terms of megaman games based of the origonal series and X.

should we expect to see more INSANELY hard X games and will they ever relase the final game in the origonal megaman series where it bridges the gap between old megaman and X?

also am i correct in assuming there arent any more humans in the X series?

They milked MM so badly now that it seems that they could care less about the story now. I don't think we'll ever see the final games made for the original series' storylines, a shame but probably the truth.

There was that little blurb in Mega Man: The Power Fighters that suggests that Dr. Wiley created Zero. But really, I don't think storyline is one of the focal points of the Mega Man games.

I'd be more than happy with HD versions of the Original and X series on PSN. Or even without graphical updates, it'd be nice to be able to have the games on one machine.

If you have a DS, check out Mega Man ZX Advent. It isn't X to a T, but it is fairly close and it's also fairly tough. If you own a PSP, Powered-Up and Maverick Hunter are worth going through again - they are revamped versions of Mega Man and Mega Man X, but all of the extra content really freshen it up.

At this point in time, though, it seems Capcom is more interested in re-releasing the older titles in collections and services than producing entirely new ones. However, with Capcom's recent surge of re-creating classic franchsies for download services, perhaps Mega Man will get thrown into the mix.

And, yes, Mega Man Power Battles features Zero in Forte's ending as when Forte crosses Dr. Wily, Wily rags on about a new creation more powerful than Forte (you see Zero's silhoutte in a cryogenic chamber). Dr. Light must have forseen this or known about it, because even though he is not alive during the X series, it is made very clear in Mega Man X that X was created by Dr. Light. X was unearthed by Dr. Cain while he was exploring the remains of Dr. Light's lab in 20XX. The storyline suggests Mega Man X takes place at least 30 years after the death of Dr. Light. So, at game canon, aside from the creations of Zero and X, there is little that ties the two series directly together.

However, in the U.S. Mega Man cartoon, there was a small plot line that concluded season two where X and Rock met through time travel. X makes the jump in order to chase Vile to Rock's time period and to my knowledge that is only instance where X and Rock meet each other in any form.

Honestly with the newer X Megaman games something became very apparent to me. They ran out of "cool" animals to use for villians. Look at X5 for example, those villians were hella lame. I haven't heard of any new console Megaman games in the works (even though he seems ever present in the portable gaming consoles). I wish they would make another 3d one for the Wii. O_o

Given the jump in consoles since the first two, yeah, Mega Man Legends 3 is long overdue.

Don't forget the Zero games for the GBA. Some of those are supposed to be pretty good, no?

There are, they just aren't important enough to mention, not with all that Maverick shit going on.

It's shown in Legends 2 that the last real, natural human died at some point before the Legends series started.

And before someone says it, the death of the last natural human, while before the start of the Legends series was also within it's scope too.

There's more to suggest that Wily created Zero than just the Power Fighters. They get into it a bit in Mega Man X4.

The last couple of X games looked really terrible. It's no wonder they were so overlooked. I don't know how they can justify the idea of Sigma coming back from the dead so many times. At least with Wily, as soon as you broke his machine he ran away. You never killed him. With Sigma, I've blown him up so many times. You'd think that X or Zero would find his CPU or something and just step on it so he stops coming back.

There is a story line to Mega Man?

Just like any other long-running series, there's much more than the typical person would care to know.

You know, with Capcom recently bringing back the Street Fighter games after several years in hiatus, one would think if they're successful, they'd tried to do some more Mega Man games.

From what I've read in interviews and such they were hesitant to try another Street Fighter game, arguably their most popular franchise.

So yeah, if the two new Street Fighter games are successful, I could see Capcom bringing back some of their other franchises as well.

Well, the roumer (or rumor, as I like to say) might have been around for longer than that, but Power Fighters was the first official word on the subject, I think.

Sadly, that idea got canned a few years, for what reason, I can't quite fathom. It was because of this I went through the painstaking process of getting Rockman World 1-5 Complete when I was in Japan.

I really enjoyed Legends 1 for Playstation (despite its bad reviews). Would be really cool to see Megaman on the wii console.
