The wait will soon be over for us norms to find out what all the eight-tenths kids who owned Sega Master Systems were up to in the late 80s. Sega announced today that two games for the system are on their way to the Virtual Console: Wonder Boy and Fantasy Zone. They'll be arriving "soon" for 400 points a piece.
The price of the games isn't too bad depending on what games will be coming out. There are some great sms games. I am saying that as a sms owner. I own one since 1999.
I will not buy a lot of Sms games on the vc as a result of me being a Sms owner.
Fantasy Zone is a good shooter for the Sms. Wonder boy plays like Adventure Island.

This is cool. I'm surprised that they're going to sell them for less than the 500 points that the NES roms cost. Might have to dl a few!

Now that the SMS on the VC in the NA is a definite done deal...
...I wonder if they'll bring out Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap now that they've already got Dragon's Curse available. Or: Will they bring out at the same price as the other SMS games, but cheaper than DC (aren't TG-16 games 600 points?).
In any case, I hope to see at least Zillion and Phantasy Star announced for the VC. Those are no brainers.

Nice to see that master system games are starting to come out but I see the same fate as so many games I see on the virtual console because I always suggest great titles to my friends that have wiis but they never want to stray away from their comfort zone so I don't think master system titles will get much love except for the random previous master system owner and classic game fans.

A definite long shot, but I'm hoping for Ultima IV: Quest for the Avatar.
I wonder if Sega has plans on doing Game Gear games (Shining Force Gaiden anyone?) for the VC anytime soon.

Golvellius would be nice, as would Ys. And I'd love to see R-Type on the VC (if there isn't already some version of it available).
The VC already has the TG16 version of R-Type, as well as Super R-Type on the NES.
I'd like to see Rastan. I already have the arcade game on Taito Legends, but I loved the SMS version back when I was in high school.

I like the price point!
While I do have a pretty extensive SMS collection - there are more than a few SMS games I'd like to have on the VC, this is good news for sure.
Off the top of my head I'd buy:
Phantasy Star
Most of the Alex Kidd series
Phantasy Zone 1 & 2
Psycho Fox
Zillion 1 & 2
Action Fighter
My Hero
Ghost House
Quartet
And others that I can't remember right now...

Massive FAIL... I thought even a 1 DOLLAR discount seemed too good to be true. I'm a longtime Nintendo fan & supporter, but their greed is really starting to piss me off! Here's my prediction now that the tiny 2 KB Commodore 64 roms will be 500 points too... GIMME A BREAK!!!

Has the 400 point price been de-bunked? Are they going for more than that?

I can't remember where I saw it, but I saw that Wonder Boy is 500 points because of Adventure Island already being on the VC.
Here's my prediction now that the tiny 2 KB Commodore 64 roms will be 500 points too...
The C64 games are 500 points in Europe.

Well, there's nothing much to see since only Wonder Boy's on there.
One little complaint I have with the VC version is that the Sega Master System boot-up screen isn't there when you start the game.
