I got this from someone who bought 5-10 games from me a month or 2 ago. It wasn't forwarded, or spam mail (per se) He actually wrote this.

MY NAME IS JOHN I DEFEATED A CANCEROUS BRAIN TUMOR THAT I HAD FOR TEN YEARS. AFTER WINNING MY BATTLE I STILL ONLY RECEIVE SSI FOR INCOME. WHICH IS WHY I AM PRACTICALLY SELLING SO MUCH. I RAN UP 13 CREDIT CARDS ON THE INTERNET A LITTLE ON EBAY DUE TO HOBBIES GAMES AND WATCH COLLECTING BUT I AM MAINLY OVER 35,000 DOLLARS IN DEBT DUE TO INTERNET CASINO GAMBLING ONCE MY SISTER TOOK ME TO A REAL CASINO I BECAME ADDICTED. IF YOU ARE WILLING TO DONATE ANYWHERE FROM A PENNY TO A DOLLAR TO MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT THANK YOU. IF YOU ARE NOT, I UNDERSTAND. IT IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM.
THANK YOU FOR READING THIS AND PLEASE PASS THIS FORWARD TO ANYBODY YOU THINK MIGHT HELP.

Could be a scam.... Or maybe he is pinning for free income. SSI typically pays as little as $25 to $400 or so a month (depending on any other income) and flipping McBurger pays more than that.

Haha, I got the same exact email! He won some lucky charms watches from me on ebay a few months ago. Weeks went by without him paying, then he payed via paypal echeck and it bounced. Then he emailed and said he couldn't pay because he spent all of his money on his girlfriend. Then he promised to pay. I emailed him again a week later. He said he lost money on gambling debts and couldn't pay yet. Then I emailed him AGAIN. and again. and again. No replies. Then, out of nowhere he emails me and says he's sorry he couldn't pay but he was in the hospital fighting a tumor. Then I didn't hear from him again at all. I figured one day I would just try to get him on AIM, and I did! Finally, after IMing him he agreed to pay via paypal and actually paid. I would say after all this that this guy is full of it.

He paid me pretty quick and everything went smooth from what I remember.

All in all, I'd have to say I believe him, but come on. Give me money because I gambled it all? I don't know you, but I bought stuff from you so be a pal and give me it back? lol.

I have to say, out of 16,000 transactions, it IS a first :)

What was the point of him mentioning the tumor in the email? Just a bit more to add to the hard luck story I guess...

I wonder if I could send out an email that says I am going through a divorce and need money for attorney fees. And uhh...my kids aren't eating..and uh...I'm living in a cardboard box and the only way that I can hook up to the internet is with a phone line that I have run into a department store from the alley that I live in...and uh....the voices in my head keep screaming PUT THE KNIFE DOWN!!!!!!! What a bunch of crap. My Dad used to be the guy at my church who people who wanted money had to talk to. It makes you a little calloused to hear all the stories that people come up with. Especially when you offer to just buy them some food instead of giving them the cash or taking them across the street to McDonalds instead of cash or making a check out to thier landlord for rent instead of cash....the list goes on and on. I wouldn't send the guy a nickel. There was another guy on ebay that actually had the nerve to list an auction for Good Karma! Just forward money to his paypal account and you will get good Karma! What crap. Ebay removed that one before it had a chance to end. Humans just crack me up. I'm so glad that I don't have to deal with any on THIS site!! LOL!!! LOL
