Is is supposed to have two discs, or only one?

I have always only seen it in the double CD case. So I think it is supposed to have two.

It's only a single disc. Why it's was sold in the double disk case is beyond me.

It was sold in a double case so you could store your original PSX game in there too :D

It would then require a 3CD case, MGS is on two discs. Thanks for playing, try again.

That was their mistake. I had the tekken 3 bleem and I asked in the bleem forums about the double case and it was mentioned that it was there to hold the original game disc.

They just didnt care that MGS was a multi disc game.

If it's sarcasm you're trying to convey, it didn't translate well here. If it's the other possible attitude, shame on you!

I can confirm that there's only one Bleem disc for MGS. As for the two-disc case, you could always cobble together the Bleem case and the MGS two-disc case. I did that with my Gran Turismo 2 Bleem disc and a spare two-disc DVD case I had lying around. (Bleem GT2 came in a paper sleeve.) It allows you to put all the discs in one case.

I'll add that MGS is 1 of those semi-rare multidisc PS1 games where you don't get prompted to save between discs. As opposed to most.

The transition here is the Blast Furnace.

Sarcasm, no. A lighthearted comment along with the information that MGS is a two disc game, yes. Sorry I offended someone who brought nothing to this thread except some halfway callout.

Don't remind me.

My buddy Chava and I rented this game, and after that Blast Furnace section, the game asked us to insert disc two. And it wouldn't load! We were stuck because the damn disc wouldn't load! :(

We had to start all over again.

Huh, looking at my case, it was just a single CD jewel case. Just the one disc, worked great for me as I only had a Dreamcast.
